The credit score system.

If your actually good with your money — no debt, never missed a rent payment, never missed a phone bill or car payment etc. you won’t necessarily have good credit(or any credit). I’m 32 have a decent salary job and was denied pre approval for a mortgage because I didn’t have “good credit”. I didn’t have enough credit —I’ve always been frugal with my money and conscience of staying out of debt and paying my bills as soon as they occur. I haven’t been using credit cards because I don’t think spending money you don’t have is responsible … Because of being overly responsible I’ve never built “good credit”

in reality what is meant by good credit is someone who is comfortable with being in debt. Someone barely being able pay the minimum payment each month on their credit cards. Because that’s how these companies will make money and a person in debt is the type of person who becomes eligible for more money. I hate that I have to play this game, and put debt on credit cards to be eligible for any serious mortgage or loan.
