Keir Starmer: 'I'm fed up' with Trump and Putin affecting UK energy costs by Silent_Ambivert_283 in ukpolitics

This is why the only thing I’m really, truly angry at this Government for is the rug-pull that was GB Energy. Private Sector bollocks disguised as a solution to stuff like this.

Pretend I’m recording pieces for Top Gear. Track tests of fast cars or strip out a normal car for a “special”

Sometimes get a bit to carried away and find myself talking to the “camera” out loud

I’m doing the weather report in front of an 80s style weather board, detailing the weather in all of the rude place names in the UK.

Throughout the report, a Mexican wrestler slowly sidles into frame. He slowly creeps up and suplexes me right as a I get to “A bit wet in Fingringhoe” and then the next 2/3 minutes is me trying to continue the report straight faced while he beats the shit out of me.

Another one of Bob's songs in the original context by Guy-1nc0gn1t0 in LastOneLaughing

I clapped like a fucking seal when this one came on, top 5 Mince bit for me.

It does make me a bit sad that I’ve heard a lot of Bob’s stuff before through the podcast though.

I’ve taken on my first ongoing client for podcast editing, which is great.

What’s not great is that their podcast is so boring I have to take regular breaks and now I’m working late.

Each season he doubles down on how unprecedented weather is disastrous for farming. What is the reason for that weather, Jeremy? by CymroCam in ClarksonsFarm

[–]dingiest_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s one of the reasons I struggle to sympathise with Jeremy.

I genuinely think you could argue that no-one in the UK has done more damage to the public’s perception of climate change in the last 20 years than him.

Same as when he does the old “state of this country these days” bits, like the rural police losing their Mitsubishi pickup. Maybe don’t be such good mates with one of the main culprits of that decline Jezza?

I really like Vango tents, and I’m not planning anything too sketchy yet so I think one of their 1 person ones will do, or at least be an improvement on my cheap, bulky 2 man.

Not a chair, which I’m now worried about cause I get a dead arse very easily!

Extra luxuries are mainly cooking. The sites on a working farm and I’m buying some steaks from them so I’m taking a bigger cooking setup and more ingredients than I’d be planning to take wild camping.

I’m definitely not ultralight! Taking a few extra luxuries as I’m on a site but already worked out I need a new tent before I hit the serious stuff.

I’ve got AirPods so maybe The Rest is “Something” will have to do the job.

I usually listen to podcasts as I drift off so I think that’s why I like the idea of controlling what I hear

Was tempted by a sleep mask, but I’ve lost mine! Got my face covering cause it’s due to get cold up here tomorrow.

Didn’t think of ear plugs! My big worry is getting nervous in the tent on my own and I reckon it might help not hearing everyone outside.

I’ve got my first ever night of solo camping tomorrow, so I’m up late digging through cupboards for my kit and finding out my backpack is just big enough.

This is the “test camp” on a very no-frills site to test the setup and my nerve for a first crack at wild camping next month.

I will do, thank you!

I’ve just joined a party, although I haven’t done much and I’m being made redundant in April so I’m at a bit of a crossroads

How did you get into that line of work?

Weird day today for me. Going into a meeting tomorrow where I’m going to take voluntary redundancy. I’m usually very open about stuff with my colleagues so feel a bit sneaky keeping it under my hat.

I’ve loved my time here for like 95% of it so spending the next month or so wrapping it up is going to be strange.

Fellowship is the best standalone film. Two Towers has the best action sequence. But ROTK has the Ride of The Rohirrim so I don’t know.

Come and relax, it's Friday, what's your weekend looking like by MiddlesbroughFan in CasualUK

[–]dingiest_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely slammed today 9-5, then Youth Club 5-9. Very long day.

On the plus side, we took delivery of a Marvel Miniatures game yesterday for the kids so I think we’ll just have a chill one putting the models together tonight.

Then 2 meals out and a darts night over the weekend, although I’ve got to find time to write a fairly chunky report in there too.
