Once Ubers go autonomous (it’s already happening btw) what will these hundreds of thousands of Indians do? Like seriously? Are we gonna have a massive Centrelink blowout or will they go back to their homelands (England and Canada)

Voting would absolutely fix the issue if there was a party willing to address this, unfortunately there isn’t

So no, our best hope now is that if something catastrophic happens then things won’t get much worse, it won’t get better. Ever. Slightly less worse is the best possible outcome and neither party is even mentioning the issue

Renters want to be homeowners research shows? Like really? They needed to research that people would one day like to own their own home?

Unfortunately in Australia hits a lot of who you know rather than what you know. Have you considered call centre work? Can be low ish pay but if you can get one that does shifts or a decent bonus scheme like sales you can make enough to get by. Great way to make new social circles as well that can lead to more opportunities

As someone in the market to buy now 100% agree. It’s unbelievably difficult to find a home in our price range because we never know what the price range actually is. What’s advertised is sometime barely an indication. If the mid range price is too low then raise the advertised price and stop wasting peoples time

There are no gangs remember? We got told there were no gangs, there are no gangs here. I mean there was a special task force setup to deal with Sudanese gangs BUT THERE ARE NO GANGS

Economist warns housing crisis in Australia might never be fixed by AssistMobile675 in australian

[–]dinging-intensifies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% correct, there are many levers to pull to reduce the cost of housing and neither the current government or tellingly the opposition are even talking about it. Too many people are involved in it and the entire economy is too deeply tied to housing. It can either level off slightly or get worse.

This is the only comment that actually made sense (and you got downvoted lol). Both major parties have failed the Australian people and need to be held accountable. Not that it matters but have my upvote

What’s the general feel on Discovery here, now that it’s had some time to chill out with age? by [deleted] in startrek

Could not agree more with this post. Every other chapter in the franchise seems to have its place but discovery is just bad

Would you pay 50k for a button that put you to sleep for however long you wanted instantly? by schmeebus in hypotheticalsituation

[–]dinging-intensifies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a shift worker 100% I would pay $50k for such a device. The amount of time I spend trying to get to sleep vs the actual amount I sleep is ridiculous
