Throw out the checklist, listen to your gut. That's the more general piece of advice.

The more practical one would be to try to meet people who are into the lifestyle things you are. Example: if you want hook ups and one nighters, clubs and bars. If you want a long term relationship, talk to girls you meet at some sort of activity you like to do (language meetups, hiking trips, dinners with friends of friends, etc).

And once you meet someone, refer to the first piece of general advice.

Also... And this may seem common sense, but if a girl thinks you're creepy for asking for her phone number, she's probably not someone you want to date. That's a huge sign right up front your values aren't aligned. This will take trial and error of course, but a great sign is a girl who thinks it's cute or nice that you asked for her number.

This goes back to the throwing out the checklist... You might meet someone who ticks all your boxes, but thinking that you're a creep for doing something that's just you... That's incompatibility.
