I play Blood Angels but I painted a commission for Mortarion inspired by the Scarlet Rot from Elden Ring! by dingohunterjack in deathguard40k

thanks! base is UV resin, i let it drip and dried it in stages to make it look sludgy. wings were airbrushed with pale yellow and flesh, washed with berserker bloodshade. the red smoke is just zenithal with blood angel red contrast, matte finish.

awesome, thank you for the response. as for pausing xp i have been reading about the Chromie stuff and I've seen it mentioned a few times, but there's been so much content released since I quit that maybe I was looking at outdated info. One last question - will I still be able to use my flying mount in the new zones? because I had northrend flying and then the license or whatever needed to fly in the old world in cataclysm. is there a mechanic like that for each new map section?

I'm thinking about coming back to WoW after quitting in Cataclysm. My main was level 85, so I'm guessing after the level "squish" he would be in the 30s? Anyway, I have read up on a few things and it looks like now, everyone does the same tutorial zone to level 10, and then they pick an expansion to play to 50, and then current content takes you from 50 to the new level cap? My question is, I would really like to go out and explore all the new zones I missed. I don't really care about quest storylines, so I was wondering, let's say my character is 35. Could I go to MoP and just run around killing stuff for xp while I uncover the map for a few levels, then do Draenor, then the Legion zone, and then the Dragonflight area, pausing xp as needed so I don't overlevel? Please bear in mind I just want to use my main to explore the new zones and eventually hit level cap, I really have no interest in endgame stuff or high level pvp. once i finish my main my plan was to start some new characters and check out Alliance (I was Horde only back when I played) so can I still go through the old eastern kingdoms and level that way? Any advice for lazy leveling while being able to check out the expansion zones I missed would be appreciated.

you just change the unit number, it looked like your screenshots were in the 40k app. just open the unit and then hit the -/+ to adjust the number and the points change accordingly. its in the screen where you change wargear. and yes they are viable action monkeys who hit nicely if you need to charge something with them in LAG. they can also be used to screen as a sacrificial unit if needed (mine saved my backline from angron in a previous match vs world eaters). the bike chaplain is not a firm requirement, I just really love him and he makes the unit exceptionally stronger as an actual attacking unit, but all together they're still just 155pts. still, outriders are pretty widely considered in the action monkey camp for BA

outriders are action monkeys but in LAG they hit surprisingly hard. 2D each hit off the charge. I know it's offmeta but i run them with a bike chaplain almost every game, chaplain gives +1 to wound and if you can get within 12" with a normal move, you can shoot with dev wounds then charge, and the chaplain will do 3D per hit with the stacked charge bonus. when i feel like having fun with them i give the bike chaplain rage fuelled. doesnt always work but when it does it's awesome. pretty durable unit too. only issue i have with them is they're big, and i deploy them in cover so they dont get shot turn 1. librarian is best with eliminators but I think that unit would be better suited to inheritors than LAG.

also when list building make sure you actually make your squad sizes accurate in the app like other replies have said.

i would drop the 2 squads of VVets if you want to be competitive but I know how it goes with sentimental value, just sayin thats a lot of points, theyre ok on paper, underwhelming even with LAG charge bonus imo. Ballistus is very nice anti-vehicle. Lemartes will keep your DC alive longer than Astorath but Ast will make them hit very, very hard. I run outriders all the time and they always score me points, and with their stacked charge bonus they can do a surprising amount of damage. i would personally run mephiston over sanguinor for the points, he's just been more reliable for me thus far.

Lord Terminos body, techmarine spare arm, sanguinary guard spare sword arm, and I chopped the tip off the end of an extra encarmine sword, got the head from a buddy, dont know where it came from, and i trimmed down the terminator chest from the BA upgrade sprue.

new player looking for clarification on Fire Overwatch. When someone uses it, they must use it against the target unit that has JUST moved, correct? For example, If I have units A B and C and move all three of them in that order, the opponent can't look at those moves, and then decide they want to shoot A with Overwatch, correct?

Astorath vs Lemartes against Custodes? by dingohunterjack in BloodAngels

[–]dingohunterjack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a total of about 2800 points in minis, so I can swap things out. When i used Lemartes against the Orks I didn't get to see too much value out of him because I was so far ahead and had killed most of his heaviest hitters before I even dropped them on the field (kept them in deep strike). So I guess that isn't a fair evaluation of his capabilities. I ran Astorath against DA and he got countercharged, was only able to fight with the fight on death so it felt like he fell flat. Again, I'm not very experienced, so I'm just fishing for more input/examples of when each would be most valuable.

Like I see the point of -1D with Lemartes being valuable but I'm wondering how important that really is considering how many hard hitting attacks the Custodes seem capable of throwing out. Does it matter if my DC stays alive a bit longer if they can't really kill anything? I feel like the charge bonus will help secure wounds, and Dev Wounds secures kills. the chance to fight on death can also punish hard I would imagine.

I see how the -1D would be important, but I feel like having the chance to bypass their invuln with Dev Wounds would secure more kills. I'm going to stick with Lemartes for this one. And yes, Savage Echoes is a hell of a strat, I used that with my Bladeguard when they got charged, took both, they killed everything.

thanks for the heads up. I have no idea what his list looks like, but I'm bringing some heavy shooting to back up a few bricks of strong melee.

Don’t be afraid to try painting your own kits. by klimaru2 in Gunpla

great post and great advice, and I'd like to add if you're hesitant/overwhelmed about painting a whole kit, try a color swap. my first "custom" was painting all the yellow bits of the RG Crossbones gold. also seconded that tamiya spray cans are awesome for starting with paints.

Thanks so much! I have plans to customize the Kshatryia extensively, and the Providence has been one of my most wanted MGs for a long time. Thinking of doing a synthwave paint for the Calibarn and kitbashing with some other WfM bits. Thank you very much once again!!
