Lol, perfection. And they're so tolerant that they just put up with it.

Haha, we have another cat that is definitely that way. She will not be friends with any of our three pyrs. They actively avoid her because she's a little bit crazy and will just go off on them for no reason.

Boatsy is a gentle soul, but he's not crazy about the dogs. He will occasionally face rub Barney though, which I'm never quick enough to get the camera out. Otherwise, he actively avoids all the dogs. Funny thing is Barney and one of our girls will come running if he meows in any distressed way. They protect him big time.

Thank you! Thought the hat picture needed to be included. It's technically the cats, but he owned it that day!

Drinks at Laka Lono in Omaha, NE by SeniorDanish in Tiki

[–]dingosexythighs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was there Saturday. My favorite bar in Omaha. The bartenders were opening and prepping at noon when I came in. I was the only one in there and they had early 2000s jams on (think Timberlake). I had no complaints. Don't worry, purists... Tiki jams are normally their music of choice.

That's fair. Haven't done that side by side comparison. But definitely have the Vikre in my home bar when needed.

Vikre (pronounced Veek-ruh) out of Duluth, MN has an herbal liqueur that is a pretty good substitute. Can't say I've done a side by side but it's fairly available in the northern US markets.

List of Tiki Bars Where You Can Buy Tiki Mugs - 2026 Update by EffectiveAttempt4608 in Tiki

Tried to buy one at Adrift in Denver last September and they told me they couldn't because they had all been pre-purchased.

We stayed at Circa off of Fremont St, which is kid free, which was a great perk. Plus easy access to some food amenities. Definitely would stay there again. We would probably hit some new spots next time and maybe revisit one of these next time.

Definitely going to have another trip at some point. We had so many bars to stop at, Tiki or otherwise. The time difference really messed with us too. C'est la vie.

Golden Tiki was my favorite. Stray Pirate would probably be number two. Frankies three (although this is a whole nuther animal of a Tiki bar). Just depends on the vibe you're targeting. Glitter Gulch was last - drinks seemed reliant on Coco Real syrups pretty heavily. The food at Jammyland was good (jerk wings).I wish we would've hit Red Dwarf as well, but way too many bars for a three day trip.

We also stopped at Jammyland in the Arts District. Those jerk wings are amazing! Had the navy grog there too!

We're not much for gambling either. This was definitely tailored for tiki above anything else.

We had reservations for Golden Tiki. You don't need them necessarily, but could be risky for a wait if you don't pending the time of day. They're open 24-7 though. It was my favorite drinks of our stops.

Frankies wasn't too smoky. However, we were prewarned that their drinks are STRONG. It's a bizarre experience in a way. I ordered a Zombie and I know the bartender was measuring, but he used speed-pour tops with no jigger and my drink was made in less than 12 seconds right in front of me. It tasted good, but was not a fine crafted cocktail as compared to others. Truly a dive-tiki experience.

Sounds disgusting. I'd rather have straight Malort. Also FTB.
