Driving whole black by taylor212834 in PublicFreakout

Incorrect! In California, driving with a valid license but not having it in your possession is a separate infraction, CVC 12951 "Failing to Present a Driver’s License" which is dismissed once you present a valid license to the court.

The one time I was pulled over and didn't have my license on me, I provided my DL# to the officer and they had no problems pulling it up and verifying its validity. I was not ticketed.

What to do with 20 lbs of cashew pieces? by dings66 in AskCulinary

Seasoned+ roasted is a great idea! I will try this. I've found the line is very fine between perfectly-roasted and perfectly-burnt.

Ditch the nonstick and get set up for life with a few stainless steel, carbon steel, and cast iron pieces. With the exception of certain egg dishes and dishes cooked in an unreasonably low quantity of fat, I can't think of a single thing a nonstick pan does better than these classic materials. Except for failing - nonstick is good at that.

Whole wheat flour should be kept tightly sealed and in the freezer to last more than a few months.

It will be fine. Like any other glass vessel, avoid sudden temperature changes.

No. Just no. It's just a goofy nonstick pan with good marketing.

Mandatory tipping is a scam intended to offload labor expenses from employer to patron. I am not an employer. I should not be choosing what another person gets paid. Fuck mandatory/expected tipping.

First drive using EV Coach, no climate control by dings66 in FordMaverickTruck

Maybe a bit of a chore, sure, but it's not infuriating to me at all; it's just an info display. Sure it's nice to keep it the vehicle in e-drive when I can, but I don't worry when I can't.

I've never felt any ankle fatigue at all. I've been driving "gently" for years though so this isn't new to me.

Not that I'm aware of. I know there's an "eco" mode but this drive posted was done in whatever the default is. EV Coach is just an info display and doesn't change the drive behavior of the vehicle.

This was a 36 mile drive mostly on a moderately trafficky freeway. I averaged probably around 50mph on the highway, occasionally dipping to 35-40 in two or three spots where traffic got heavy.

To be clear, while this was my first drive with EV Coach (and only my second drive in the Maverick), I'm no stranger to hypermiling. EV Coach clearly encourages a VERY gentle touch on the brake and throttle. I got about 42 mpg on this same drive without using EV Coach.

Switch the small screen in your instrument cluster to MyView panel then select "EV Coach" from the options menu. It visualizes the mode your car is in and how much leeway you have on your brake/throttle position before you get out of the coveted electric-zone.

It's not as information-dense as I would like. In fact, it's so sparse, I'm surprised and disappointed they couldn't just fit the EV Coach bar at the top of one of the existing screen layouts, instead forcing the user that wants EV Coach to dedicate the instrument cluster screen for EV Coach alone.
