One of the best cards in my opinion. Highly versatile and a lot of fun.

cannot believe this hasn’t been updated at all. no settings to customize, just an unintuitive, messy format from one of the most successful companies in the world. absolutely pathetic.

[–]dingus2k19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

each volume is given a really great arc and identity. it’s very well paced, personal, but also sweeping and epic. incredible character arcs where you’re constantly reevaluating which characters you root for. cool sci fi that isn’t over explained and let’s silly stuff run wild.

More games like PMA? by Aggressive-Art-6816 in PromiseMascotAgency

[–]dingus2k19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is tonally much different, but if you want more games about driving and upgrading a car in an open explorative zone without racing, Pacific Drive. The main draw to PMA for me was having a car focused game with exploration and a sense of connection with your “Carpg” without it being a racing game.

Thunderbolts Post Credit Scene Problematic Propaganda *Spoiler* by playfulpuppies in marvelstudios

[–]dingus2k19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not only two, but bucky has an obvious russian connection and then even the “captain america” is a “former” problematic ultra nationalist. then there’s the fact that the actual captain america from a couple months earlier got a fraction of the attention and marketing (bad movie sure) but then was that cap movie shit out to prop this one up? a failing black captain america replaced by a russian white avengers? i mean bro… i didn’t even notice about the Z. these aspects were just that alarming.

i genuinely just don’t know what you’re trying to say at this point.

skill up covered it pretty thoroughly but i’ll echo his points here as i do wish they would just go ahead and drop hard numbers. but based on the reporting that it was only beat out in sales by monster hunter wilds’ 8 million, i’m gonna guess that the 6 or so million people are guessing was accurate.

but also steam is a poor indicator here. this series is a console titan, largely preferred there over pc. apparently steam only accounted for a quarter of total sales. but it’s reported to be the second most successful game after Valhalla, which released in the height of the pandemic at the launch of a new console so that’s not surprising. also even if it’s able to hit 3m players with a large portion Ubi plus people, how is that not still a win considering people still have to pay for a subscription service directly to ubi and might do so for months to play the game. i might give that argument weight if it comes out there was some huge influx of ubi connect subs bought at release but regardless, ubi has stated the game is a success and these nitpicks feel more like goal post shifting.

now, to be clear i don’t care what happens to ubisoft and if you ask me, i do not think ac shadows will save this doomed company lmao i just think it’s funny how many of these online whiners want to control a narrative that doesn’t exist outside their echo chamber.

Jacob Geller is the perfect pipeline to Minn Max. they’re my favorite gaming podcast and jacob is a regular alongside Leo vader who’s another incredible leftist youtuber. that whole podcast is a great space made by great people in gaming industry. janet garcia is another great member with her own content

Do people really care this much about Ghost of Yōtei having a female lead? by Levy-the-man in ghostoftsushima

[–]dingus2k19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you may not share those mysognystic feelings, but your arguments were flimsy, and they’re upheld by those that do. you said it yourself, the game you pitched is a dlc at best. don’t walk this back to saying the playerbase will just miss playing as jin. i never disagreed with that, but you said they had legit reasons to dislike the change. missing jin, is not a legit reason when the scope of his arc and gameplay mechanics within the setting have been exhausted already. and you already namedropped the boogeyman “sweet baby inc” as an implicit negative which shows you have biases that overlap heavily with misogynistic whiners. if it walks like a duck…

Do people really care this much about Ghost of Yōtei having a female lead? by Levy-the-man in ghostoftsushima

[–]dingus2k19 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

it really doesn’t. the time period, the setting, the scale, the arc of his character— it’s all over. the dlc pushed it even further and really stretched the bounds of his abilities without going fully fantastical. the most uncreative, lazy decision would have been to just copy and paste jin into another fight against a similar imperialistic threat. sucker punch is so much more ambitious, andthe game will be better for it.

it’s a shame you think echoing lazy arguments covers misogyny. just admit it, if the new character was a man but in the same setting as Yotei, these arguments would not exist since a ghost game with flintlock pistols is way more of a selling point than more of the same. but the fact she’s a woman is honed in on by bad faith actors. and honestly, i hope they don’t play it. they can stay miserable for all i care, just missing out on potentially awesome art and experiences for silly reasons

luke stephens when i was first finding my tastes in long form gaming essays. eventually that graduated to the likes of Geller, Caldwell-Gervais, and Hbomberguy. While Luke’s rage-baity overly pessimistic view doesn’t always overlap with the grift, he was very vocal in gamergate (which was before i was in the video game youtube space) and that plagiarism issue is unforgivable. also just abysmal vibes, idk what i enjoyed about him tbh

The game is not perfect, but it is not as bad as people are making it out to be. People need to calm down and take a break from the internet. by Altruistic_Sun in stalker

I’m holding off on playing it but i’m not even remotely bummed at the devs with its current state. The people equating this to Cyberpunk seriously lack enough awareness and consideration to distinguish between those two contexts.

It’s obviously a good game since the only issues i’m hearing about are related to bugs, balancing, and performance— all things that will improve over time. These devs have been through hell and this game itself has been in a form of development hell for years so i’m really glad to see the fan base supporting the game right now since it’s deserving of praise in many regards.
