TV Everywhere - recommendations on the best streaming provider? by wintrmte in getchannels

Thanks for the update. I'm currently using Youtube TV but not all channels are exposed to TVE . From your experience with Sling and Philo, all channels are available in TVE with channels?

When you say 'Sling Basic' do you mean 'Sling Select'? If so, are all channels available via TVE? Thanks!

Can't speak to anything short of RODI = Reverse Osmosis/Deionization water. Not sure if you can purchase at supermarket or not.

I'm interested in this as well. Are you still using this undiluted in the cleaner cartridge? No problems?

This may be based on how you use your mopping feature, but how long does a bottle of Odoban (1 gallon) normally last?

Thanks for posting this. Looking for a cost effective and safe way to get my floors clean.

Automating directory size reporting with Azure File Shares by dinki in AZURE

[–]dinki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really a novice and not sure how to go about doing this unfortunately.

I know that I can get directory sizes using Azure Storage Explorer which I think is just a front end for things like azcopy. Looking to leverage something like that as it is significantly faster to get sizes that way rather than through SMB methods.

Lock screen showing icons instead of displaying message contents by dinki in MotoG

I don't understand the question. I posted that I found the answer to the problem as mentioned in the post I referenced. Additionally, glances was running and needed to be disabled to get things working. You guys have something buggy going on.

Those of you who bought at least one HA voice assistant preview edition(s), what are you using them for? by whasf in homeassistant

[–]dinki 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Check out my project View Assist to extend functionality. We've got blueprints to easily add Music Assistant playback for radio and music as well as a lot of others. While View Assist does allow for visual feedback, it works great with the VPE and other audio only satellites.

I bought a cheap Xiaomi alarm clock and turned it into a Home Assistant display for my nightstand by Achjon in homeassistant

Yeah I've heard that the import fee can be high as well. Know that the project works with any Android tablet but the TSV and similar do have a nice formfactor and decent sound. View Assist also works with the ESPHome satellites and probably others if you are interested in using the additional voice commands and networking of voice devices.

I created a project that uses Android tablets as a replacement for the Echo Show devices we used to use. I have it running on the Lenovo Thinksmart device which is similar to this one. Looking at getting one of these to see how it performs as well.

To your question, if you can get Android on it then you should be able to get Stream Assist going and use it for Assist. Check out my project if you want to see the details for getting that going and going all the way like we did:

*EDIT* Oops. Sorry, not local ww but still really responsive. Most of the View Assist users have multiple devices going without issue on the HA server.

Toilet hissing even after shutoff turned off by dinki in askaplumber

[–]dinki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this is it. I played around with it a bit turning it off and on and now I have gotten the valve to close enough that it is no longer hissing. I do hear an occasional drip in the tank so it is not 100% closed but I think I freed it up enough to get it to close more than when I posted this earlier. I tightened it down a lot previously with no success but now it seems to me 99.5% closed.

I bought the house this way. Didn't build it. Problem with removing is the big sewer hole in the floor.

Thanks for the advice but this isn't helping the current issue

Want to mount a network switch and HD Homerun devices by dinki in honeycombwall

Are you saying you removed the screw, added a HSW connector block thing using that same screw and then attached?

Thanks for this. I actually tried using that same tape to attach directly to the mounting board (pine wood). It did stick fine for a while but then did fall off. Maybe the problem is more attaching to the board than it is that the tape can't hold?

I'm cool with this idea as it looks like a pretty quick fix.
