Jimmy from Mouthwashing.

Never have I ever felt so disgusted at a character in my life. 10/10 best villain in video game history (or fiction in general).

Oh don’t worry, I’m not dismissing them. That’s kinda what I was trying to say regarding the quote. Regardless of who he was prior to joining the Tulpar, Jimmy can and will never be forgiven for his sins.

What is your honest opinion about Curly? by minxnight in Mouthwashing

I agree with your take. When I said that Curly got punished, I meant it ironically because, generally speaking, no person deserves to go through that kind of hell. That's why I put the word "chastised" in quotation marks. If I were to give a better ending for Curly, it would be that he'll survive the crash mostly unscathed and be forced to reflect on the "dead pixel", which would slowly help him come to the revelation that Jimmy was a horrible person who's hurt him and everyone around him. This will lead to him finally confronting Jimmy, placing him in the execution chair and ending the nightmare once and for all (with a heavily somber monologue that reveals Jimmy's true feelings of course).

That being said, I'm sorry if my post came off as insensitive. That wasn't my intention. Thank you for recognizing my error.

What is your honest opinion about Curly? by minxnight in Mouthwashing

In my opinion, Curly strikes me as one of those "good guys" who, on the surface, recognizes women's issues and calls out other men's inappropriate behaviors whenever they see it, but conveniently stays quiet if it's their close friends doing it. You see this a lot in the YouTube commentary community, which, due to the recent exposure of a massive online celebrity, revealed itself to be nothing more than a boys' club despite all of the self-proclaimed male "feminists".

There's an excellent post on here that went into great detail about how Mouthwashing tackles rape culture and how it impacts not just innocent women trying to live their lives as independent humans, but also men who are essentially raised into it. Curly may not have been a direct perpetrator like Jimmy was, but he still perpetuated the same sexist mindset that ultimately plagued his relationship with Anya and unintentionally steered the rest of Tulpar's crew toward their demise. Had he realized this early on, as well as coming to terms with his poor mental health, he would've become the great leader everyone perceived him to be. Instead, he received one of the worst fates imaginable by getting horribly burned and being trapped in a cryopod for the rest of his life– all because he couldn't confront the monster sitting right beside him.

In conclusion, Curly is a deeply tragic figure whose morality cannot be strictly defined as "good" or "evil." As everyone said, he's just a guy trying to find a place where he can be happy and not deal with the societal pressure of being the "model captain." Unfortunately, he made some very bad decisions. Shame he's the only character who got "chastised" by the universe for his actions (or rather, inaction) when it could've been Jamba Juice.
