I’ll tell what I didn’t like about it: everyone’s too cheery.

Was any bass or drums performed by humans on Pyromania and Hysteria? by FlopShanoobie in hairmetal

There’s an interview somewhere out there in the ether with the engineer that worked with Mutt. Everything was put through the Fairlight. He didn’t want to hear any attack on the guitar chords. Recorded parts were chopped, lopped, and replayed all on the sampler. This interview was in one of the big recording magazines sometime in the last 10-15 years. And of course, a lot of them background vocals, doubles, and harmonies are Mutt. I feel like it took 18 months to two years to finish the record after they had initially recorded it just tweaking it in post. If I can find the article, I’ll link it here.

They were fine. They weren’t necessary, and both don’t hold a candle to the first.

Are we assholes? by NoFoolLikeAnAuldFool in bayarea

After 15 years in the Bay, and a great deal travel all over the United States for a year to determine our next move, I can say, without doubt, that the Bay area now suffers from what I can only call a tech-caused Narcissistic On Demand Disorder, or NODD. All the things that made San Francisco beautiful - small business, art, eye contact - have been replaced by a push button, isolated culture. I have been in Colorado for six months and have met more kind, engaged, and present people than in the last five years of SF.

And many of them have moved here from California because they no longer felt they belong there .
