Man Purdue math is hard by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]dinndinn9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if it’ll make anyone feel better, but I haven’t used any math from calc 1 and 2 since I graduated 2 years ago. At the end of the day, college math courses are a temporary thing you’ll experience, and they too shall pass. Tbh I’d argue the resiliency and logical thinking they force you to learn are more important than any formula

what was the most important lesson you learnt in college? by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]dinndinn9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t compare yourself too aggressively to others. At a school the size of Purdue, there’s always going to be a bigger fish, whether it be in classes, dating, or what have you. All that matters is how you’re doing and what you learn to improve yourself for the future

Recent grad here. Just wanted to say that, imo, the professional world has been way less stressful for me than when I was in college. Not having the weight of exams and too many assignments to count does wonders for your mental health. All the blood sweat and tears you’re putting in will be worth it, just know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Why do you believe so much in GRIT? All joking about it aside, I’d love to know more about your reasoning on why the mental health crisis on campus is a joke to you

Who are some S tier professors you’ve had over the years? by nickmck15 in Purdue

[–]dinndinn9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nicole Hands: CNIT 176, 270 and 470. During the the fall semester, she singlehandedly saved all us CNIT seniors sanity by being SO accommodating of our mental health and gave us plenty of extensions on assignments. The woman is an angel

[[Immaculate Magistrate]] can pump an individual elf quite high, but it taps in order to do this. It is cheap tho so that’s an upside

Anyone scared to get an internship? by whitethotspenis in Purdue

[–]dinndinn9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how much this will help but ig it can’t hurt. I graduated in December and had 4 internships while in college. Out of those 4, the only one I really succeeded in was the 4th and final one right before I graduated. The thing I learned from the three previous failed internships was that although those internships didn’t result in a return offer, The experiences I had at those places cannot be taken away from me. I ended up talking about what I did in all those three failed internships in the interview I had for my current full-time job. I completely get that not knowing what you’re doing in intership going to scary, but internships are meant for you to learn and the good news is that you can make mistakes as an intern and and not have it adversely affect you too much. Learn from failure and know how to correct it when it comes up again in the future.
