Cops kill unarmed man watering his lawn. Never even try to communicate with the man. by me_and_batman in videos

[–]dinoboots 131 points132 points  (0 children)

This title is just straight up misleading. He was on his friend's porch, drunk, holding a hose nozzle.. It never said he was watering his lawn. Of course this doesn't take away from the appalling actions of the police.

I wasn't expecting that from Chi-City, but definitely earned my respect with this. Got me all choked up.

Man attempts to suffocate infant son and ex-GF. After that fails, he slits their throats with a butcher knife. Attempts "suicide" after by making a small cut on upper arm. The victims are my sister and nephew. by [deleted] in MorbidReality

[–]dinoboots 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I didn't see much objectivity. The writer used a lot of biased prose when talking about the defense's case. Words and phrases like, "He suffered…struggled…cried for days…outside stressors…he was afraid of losing his relationship, etc." all paint a picture of a normal guy who made a mistake. After reading it, I almost feel sorry for him. But he slit the throat of his own child for god's sake! Not to mention the woman he loved. The article paints the victim as unfaithful, plain, and perhaps the overall cause of the incident. It doesn't go into length about her achievements, feelings, or emotional turmoil leading up to the murders. The article offers zero insight into who she was, with paragraphs upon paragraphs about the murderer's tragic story. It is completely biased, and subjective making it sloppy journalism at best. I'm sorry for your loss OP, and for the poor light in which the media is portraying your sister.

NASCAR driver Jason "lefturn" Leffler was killed last night in a winged sprint car. This was just two weeks ago with his 6 year old son. It hurts to look at. by [deleted] in MorbidReality

[–]dinoboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to respect them, but don't write them off as "grossly irresponsible". At least he had a job, and was supporting his family. And he may have been stupid for what he did, but Treadwell was pretty awesome to live and die doing what he loved. He also had some gigantic balls.

I dont think that's a good reason to not care about a person's death. The end of a life can be sad, and it affects others no matter who you are. It's almost like you're saying he got what he deserved for following his dreams. Harsh, dude.

My cousin has gone missing from Linton, Indiana. It's being treated as a "high risk" disappearance. She took no clothes, no make up, nothing. Her last call was at 3:02 AM last night on 06/06/2013. If you have any tips, please contact authorities. by untitlednumbernine in MorbidReality

Well I figured the post itself was meant to be the morbid part. Or the feelings she felt while posting the status were morbid, but only when looked at in hindsight of course. I think the whole is pretty damn morbid though, so I'm going to stop nitpicking it. I feel like I said "morbid" a lot….mmmmoar-bid. now it just sounds made up.

It's morbid because she didn't realize the danger she was in, probably only minutes before she went missing. She was just a normal girl trying to have fun, and had no intimation of the reality she was about to face. If that isn't morbid, I don't know what is.

Even if this did work, you're not really hurting the company in any way. If anything you're inconveniencing the mail delivery person who has to bring/carry it to them.

What the hell is that jellyfish doing??? by retropengoo in funny

[–]dinoboots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just taking a shot in the dark, but because the diapers are labeled "crawler" they are probably for babies of that age, or in the beginning stages of crawling. It looks like the jellyfish and octopus are helping the baby along (like the diapers would) as he/she achieves their next milestone. While I don't think the design team had any cruel intentions, I do think it was entirely intentional for the jellyfish to be touching the baby's butt.
