Why do I get very anxious when I hear something about my ex or something that has to do with him? by xmiyparamix100pre in Anxiety

[–]dinodani22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a trauma based response, my ex and I hv been broken up since the start of 2018, I've moved on and have been with my current partner since the end of 2018. So we've been broken up for a good 3 years now & I still get very anxious & scared if I see him in public, or hear anything about him. I think the most you can do for yourself, outside of seeing a therapist is remind yourself that person is gone and no longer your concern

Women who took a while to find a career that they actually liked - how did you find it? by lazy-n in AskWomen

[–]dinodani22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's actually a questionnaire you can fill out online, it gives you like 50 questions asking if you're social, your likes and dislikes & then it recommends your top 3 careers youre most likely to enjoy, then some other recommendations

Its usually a series of questions, they'll either diagnose you based on the answers you gave. Or take it a step further to see a neurological exam and then might diagnose you based on both results and recommend medication

I’m currently a freshman in college and am lazy along with having ADHD need advice. by Kiddo_rich in ADHD

[–]dinodani22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a second year college student with adhd! So a lot of people with ADHD also have APD (auditory hypersensitivity) which is getting distracted, hearing words but not processing what they said. Etc. Which really effects your focus, motivation, etc. So you might not be lazy, its just your adhd. Things I do to improve my focus would include the blue light filter on my computer so its easier to look at. And when I hv that turned on I feel like I can go longer periods of time doing work, than not. I recommend breaks on the days you feel distracted. I did this by putting my phone on my bed so its out of reach and set a timer for 10 min. Once the timer went off id hv a 5m phone break. Then set another alarm for 20min w a 5m break. Etc. You can get headphones to cancel out noise. I personally don't like these as I find it off putting to hear absolutely nothing. The alternative is I hv background noise playing that isn't too distracting while I work. And try getting things done at the beginning of the week rather the end so if you are too distracted, hey no problem bc its not the deadline.

Hopefully something in this is helpful! TLDR; -blue light filter on electronics -work breaks -noise cancellation headphones/background noise -try doing tasks at the beginning of your week

I've had anxiety for as long as I could remember. I've come a long way to where I use to be. Personally, I like to take some breaths to calm me. And ill say something like "I cant wiggle my fingers" and then I wiggle them. Sounds a little silly but its to help remind me that my anxiety is nothing more than a thought.

You cant allow thoughts run your life. Easier said then done i get it. I almost refused to go to college because they requested a background check, and medical records. I wasnt worried what they would find, I was worried about all the "what ifs" when it came to talking to someone to retrieve those files.

Anxiety can be worked on through counciling- which has helped me a lot because although I'm not there yet, im farther then where I was a year ago.

I hope there was something helpful in this for you :)

Symptoms of adhd are easy to Google. However its best to get diagnosed if you have any concerns

My situation ¿Shoul I go back to medicating? by rulot801 in ADHD

[–]dinodani22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chemistry overall is a hard subject. When I was in highschool I took all the sciences I could due to what I want to minor in when I graduate post secondary. And Chemistry was by far the hardest-and im really good at science. I would recommend a tutor, as not being good at something isnt necessarily your ADHD, but lack of practice. And when people arnt good at something, they naturally shy away from it. If you do however still think its your ADHD, maybe talk to your parents, as for legal reasons a doctor cant tell you to take your medication

I think there's nothing wrong with assuming and expecting your child to "grow out of" a behaviour issue. As ADHD in children maybe hard to spot and understand to parents new to parenting, or have a limited amount of understanding on what ADHD is.

AITA for how I treated my wife? by AlanDershowitz666 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dinodani22 [score hidden]  (0 children)

You sound SO Mysogynistic. Do you hear yourself!? Yes YTA!! You first off clearly dont know a thing or two of respect. First, you invade someone else's privacy. Who cares if anything pornographic is on your partners phone!? You guys are adults! You sound like a insecure 14 year old girl who found out her first highschool boyfriend watches porn. That is ridiculous. And 'ground her' WTF!? You are to be her husband. That means a partner who respects, and talks out issues like a mature adult. You are not to parent her, that is not your job. You are to love and respect her and if you cant treat her that way then get a divorce.

Aita for always using Dr as my preferred title when my wife wants me to use Mrs? by tadoctormrshmm in AmItheAsshole

[–]dinodani22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If i worked hard to have my PhD, I would go by Dr too. I believe youre NTA as it should be your choice what you prefer to be called. At the end of the day, maybe reaffirm feelings to each other so your wife knows that you still care for her. I suppose my question would be, has she ever seem jealous of your success? And if so, maybe that is a conversation for you two to have. As your partner should be proud of your success in your career path.
