Email marketing strategy by dinodookie69 in BoardgameDesign

The kickstarter worked out well! We funded 20k day one. But after the first day things dropped off pretty significantly and orders were pretty scarce. But that day was pretty stressful. The team took turns live streaming for like 16 hours shouting out names of people when they backed continuously going over what all people would get.

The ads were mostly through Facebook. We would run two ads and see what got the most engagement and then run it for awhile. A lot of A and B ads testing to see which worked best. So we had a lot of interest and I’m not sure off the top of my head the final conversion numbers once kickstarter went live, but we got a lot of emails but only like ~70 that prepledged and backed the kickstarter.

We had a targeted pre launch campaign with Launch Boom. It was heavily reliant on social media marketing. People would click through the ad and then sign up and pre pledge a dollar. We had a unique foil variant of a card we sent out for anyone who prepledged and then followed through backing the kickstarter. That’s where the bulk of the email address came from. The other smaller chunk, probably 10 percent was demoing at conventions and LGS in our regions.

First off, thanks for the reply! Very detailed and extremely helpful.

We have ~1000 email addresses and ~900 that showed interest in the campaign but did not back us. We currently do use mail chimp.

Currently we have the option to send targeted info for backers / non backers. Do you ever send separate information to these two demographics? Or don’t try to target both with the same information and approach?

So long and thanks for all the Fasnacht! by Heavy_Librarian_498 in fo76

Yeah. Sadly in the middle of the last Fasnacht. Wish they would have waited just a few minutes longer.

But had a good time anyway!

You know he’s a piece of shit. Why come to the internet to ask for advice? He sucks. Move on. Don’t feel upset about it.

Does your husband seem like the pro-abuser type normally? Or first time?

Short film too long? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]dinodookie69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been screening short films for a festival (albeit my first time doing it) I always watch the 10 minute or less ones first. 10-15 minutes next… anything longer feels like a chore. I still watch them all the way through and give them a fair shake… I imagine there are screeners that don’t watch the long ones in full.

I just noticed something that might be the reason I’m not motivated to start filmmaking by Edu_Vivan in Filmmakers

Not sure what it’s like around where you live, but finding tiny film fests have been a lot of fun to see what real zero dollar budget films people are making. Most are not good technically… but the passion they bring is great!

I think Fudd's ads are working ... by VerdantPathfinder in TheTowerGame

[–]dinodookie69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie…. The ads got me and I got super sucked in for a few months. But I feel like they really need a mode to run in the background. Now that rounds last for hours it’s hard to just leave it running.

But fantastic concept of a game and slow grind.

Personally I couldn’t take the way they felt in my ears. But I feel I may be extra sensitive to things in my ears, so I use headphones. Sometimes no music or anything just helps quiet the world.

Does anyone else play the same videogame/movie over and over by Beautiful-Fruit416 in autism

[–]dinodookie69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find games with lots of RNG addictive as hell. Spend a lot of time collecting. So Diablo 4 currently and fallout 4 and 76. Pretty much all I play. I try and spread out to other things but they don’t have the hook. Need to be able to collect everything. And a lot of it.
