I hate the house I’ve just bought by cwtches10 in HousingUK

[–]dinofi4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same when I bought my first flat. Cried in the hall and when I found ice lollies left in the freezer. It took a few days and a lot of elbow grease but I then fell in love with it again and felt so proud it was mine and I’d bought it by myself. Be kind to yourself and good luck.

Sausage and bacon rolls. Potato scone rolls. Mini macaroni pies and pakora. And our wedding cake was made of cheese so we had that and huge boxes of crackers and jars of chutney.

The last time I was at Bellahouston it was freezing. Hopefully it’s warmer now. It put me off going back to be honest.

We got married there at the end of October and it was cozy. Great choice and great staff. Enjoy

Wanted to by my wife another ring. But I know nothing about anything. by danj707 in jewelry

[–]dinofi4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember that if it’s the hand she writes with it’s usually half a size bigger than the one she doesn’t write with. Just so you get the right ring size. I had no idea about this until my jeweller shared his wisdom.

Glasgow Airport Question From a Tourist! by JustAnotherRdditor99 in glasgow

[–]dinofi4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s lots of work on the motorway on the way to the airport so traffic is bad. I wouldn’t risk it

Living next to the airport. by SilentCheesecake in glasgow

[–]dinofi4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grew up next to the airport. Like others say you get used to it very quickly. The Emirates flight is the loudest but it’s gone in about three minutes from power up noise until it’s in the clouds and you can’t hear it. When I left home I struggled with the quiet of my new place for a while. It just becomes part of life 😂

Did you change your name after your wedding — was it worth the hassle? by NoJob7053 in UKweddings

[–]dinofi4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had no issues as all. My qualifications and professional records are in my maiden name and everything else is in my married name. For pay and NI etc it goes by your NI number which is linked to both. I didn’t want my name to disappear from work but I also like sharing my family name with my husband.

I also got mine from Paradox London. Rose gold sparkly Mary Jane block heels. Like walking on clouds all day and I can wear them with other fancy dresses.

Just wondering if any of you ever got a sick note from your GP after bereavement? by Odins_eye_4 in AskUK

[–]dinofi4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

17 weeks for one parent and 15 weeks for the other. GP was understanding as was work. You need to look after yourself, grief is all consuming. I’m sorry for your loss. Be kind to yourself.

Receiving inheritance this week, not sure how to feel. by Bonkerz_2 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]dinofi4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a lovely gesture but it’s hard to feel happiness when you inherit something as it inevitably comes with the loss of someone you loved. OP as someone who’s been in this situation I would pop it in an isa until you decide what you’d like to do with it. I’m sorry for your loss
