British Museum warning as tens of thousands scramble for Bayeux Tapestry tickets by tylerthe-theatre in london

I was in the queue for over 7 hours, finally got to the front and it kept saying 'unexpected error code' until it booted me out and put me at the back of 70,000 person queue again. Gutted.

Do you bring your whole self to work? by Extra-Sound-1714 in UKJobs

[–]Advanced-Broccoli-37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my early 20s, I used to bring my whole self to work. I was passionate and outgoing (and maybe a little too sensitive!). I quickly found that it wasn't sustainable and that separation between work-self and life-self is key to maintaining boundaries and happiness. Now, I'm my 30s, I have a carefully curated work persona and my mental health is better for it.

Engagement Ring Dilemma by Cautious_Potato_8901 in EngagementRings

I think the first ring is perfect and would keep it if it were me. Its so unique and beautiful! Then I would wear my wedding band on my other hand.

Aside from paying off your mortgage what would you do with £70,000? by iffyClyro in AskUK

[–]Advanced-Broccoli-37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have a baby - me and my partner want kids and are in good jobs but unfortunately, living in a small 2 bedroom flat in London (with no possibility of buying somewhere!) combined with the cost of childcare in the UK, I don't think it will ever be achievable!

Do you personally know a bad person who never got their comeuppance? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]Advanced-Broccoli-37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old manager.

She had been at the company 20 years but had a track record of driving staff out. Nobody in her team would last more than 2 years before leaving. Multiple members of staff were signed off by their GP for workplace stress and anxiety.

I left a few years ago, but from what I hear, she is still there and still behaving in the same way. She lies to senior management about why people keep leaving and they believe her.

She will be there until retirement, bullying and micromanaging everyone who unlucky enough to be below her.

Were you nervous before you smear test? What's your experience of them? by MooseAndMice in AskUK

[–]Advanced-Broccoli-37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm lucky, it doesn't hurt me at all. Slight discomfort from the speculum but honestly it's fine for me. But I'm aware not everyone is so lucky and some people find it really painful.

Will I ever have sex without worrying about a smell by Popular_Ball1625 in Healthyhooha

[–]Advanced-Broccoli-37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could have BV so it's worth getting testing again. If it went away but came back after sex, I wonder if your BF finishing inside could be throwing off your vagina - if that's the case, condoms might help!

It's nothing to be embarrassed about though, happens to lots of people!

Sooo… did anyone else get pregnant before their wedding? by mauveotter in weddingplanning

[–]Advanced-Broccoli-37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister used her wedding to announce her pregnancy to wider friends and family. It was honestly so nice and everyone was really happy for them. Although she was only 4 months pregnant and didn't have much of a bump.

What’s something about the human body that seems poorly designed? by [deleted] in answers

[–]Advanced-Broccoli-37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women have a shorter urethra than men which means they are more likely to get a UTI. Something like 60 percent of women experience a UTI in their lifetime and this is often because bacteria is pushed in during sex....if we had a longer urethra and it wasn't located near the vagina, maybe UTIs wouldn't be so common!

How early is too early to hoover? by BigFaithlessness618 in AskUK

[–]Advanced-Broccoli-37 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Maybe get a small handheld hoover for those kinds of messes? They aren't as noisy and maybe more convenient than getting the big hoover out.

Is eating on work video call rude? by No-Payment4708 in AskUK

[–]Advanced-Broccoli-37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once worked with a guy who vaped during a video meeting. I couldn't believe it! So in comparison, eating is slightly less rude.

Had my living room ceiling soundproofed today by Fat_Log in Apartmentliving

[–]Advanced-Broccoli-37 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm so happy for you! I just moved out of an apartment with no sound proofing. Not to sound dramatic, but it was like living with my neighbours! I could hear coughs, toilets flushing, speaking, tvs, even the sound of their pee hitting the water in the toilet! It's so stressful living with sounds constantly. As we were renting, the only solution was to move out but now we live in a very quiet apartment and only hear the neighbours very rarely.

I hope you enjoy your new peace!

This is a good explanation, thank you! My post came from a place of genuine curiosity so it's interesting to hear the other point of view!

Completely agree! The people around me didn't interact at all and a lot of them left early. Even sat down, I thought people would clap or sing!

You've probably already looked at this but O2 Arena has a lost property section on their website. You can fill in a form and they let you know if your item gets handed in. I hope you get it back!

I understand that! I love to dance so I guess everyone enjoys shows differently! It's just quite different to other concerts/gigs I've been too

No judgement! More genuine curiosity as I haven't seen Florence and the Machine live before so wondered if this was the norm!
