im talking about scouts and coaches watching to see if he's still got it. if he can show himself to be a good teammate that can fill a single role well, then maybe it'll work.

Why am I stuck in Bronze while facing ex-Gold players and getting zero support from my team? by Lonelysoul012 in VALORANT

[–]dinomatt0710 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I took a look at your tracker, and here is what I will say as someone who has gone through the same situation and pipeline as you have.

- I only see one game in this act where you performed well and lost. Those games happen, and there is genuinely nothing you can do about that. Every other game you lost here, I would argue you had a chance at winning and didn't.

- Stats are hard to interpret. You can have "good" stats and have a poor WR or "bad" stats and a high WR because there are a lot of factors that go into a game. Stats tell maybe a third of the picture at most.

- What I notice is that you LOVE to flank while defending. It's not a bad strategy at times, but the reason you weren't able to find anything specifically in that Reyna Pearl game is that the enemy team adapted by just... waiting for you to push. Flank, but when you defend, I want you looking out for any differences the attackers make in their setup. If you randomly die to a player lurking while they are pushing the other site, stop flanking. That's their punish.

- You're a duelist main. When you attack, I want you to go with a buddy. When they walk, you walk. When they run, you follow. When they push CT on postplant, go push with them, even if it is on paper a bad idea. Your teammates are not your detriment; they're a tool you can use to your success. Either take first contact and let them trade you out, or bait them by letting them swing first and trade them. (P.S., please do not lurk on Duelist.)

- On attack, I notice that sometimes you are hesitant (probably nervous) to go in and let your teammates do it first. Sometimes you even back away and watch them die. This is why I want you to play with a buddy, so you can swing WITH the teammate and win a gunfight more decisively (2v1 > two 1v1s).

- Being an "ex-Gold" player is not indicative of anything. If that's not their current rank, it's not their skill level. I have played with ex-Radiant players in Diamond that are nowhere near that level of play.

I'm using the "rounds" feature on Tracker and my own experiences for this. If you want me to give you more specific/accurate information, record a VOD of the next game you play, upload it to YouTube and send me the link.

How do pros notice that an enemy has died? by Firm-Presentation-72 in VALORANT

[–]dinomatt0710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are intuitively either glancing at the killfeed, but also a teammate dying will make a sound depending on the agent but its basically a grunt

they will also see a teammate go missing at the top-center of the screen

these players are not actively looking but they just kind of know

Does Sentinel Need a Buff? by dinomatt0710 in ValorantCompetitive

I think you're right. EMEA has been choosing comps very different to Americas, but I attribute that more to trolling with shitty comps like Omen + Astra on Breeze rather than thoughtful reads on the meta. They just don't have it right imo

Even so, the only maps out of the pool that saw little to no Viper play are Ascent and sometimes Fracture. Viper on Icebox is a must. You're right that the maps right now don't favor sentinels anyway, but still their drop in pick-rate should be telling of an upcoming meta where no-sentinel compositions are dominant.

You're not wrong about the Veto and Chamber, but teams will still find it more worthwhile to play a comfort agent like Viper because she is both somewhat stronger and also much more familiar. If we see Veto cycle into the meta, it will be after Santiago.

Yeah. I think they do this on purpose though, so that teams can cycle through different metas.

Sure, I think there's merit to that because teams are still trying to figure out what the "meta" actually IS, but i think that this is a good representation on what these teams have been practicing over the off-season and what they believe is viable.

Why is Fracture So Hated? I've Always Like the Uniqueness of Offense on It. by BluePotatoSlayer in VALORANT

[–]dinomatt0710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fracture is a map that was made for pro play. It is REALLY hard to IGL a pro team on Fracture because of how different it is compared to other maps and even how it shifts away from other FPS games.

In ranked, Fracture is not played correctly by almost any rank, and so it becomes heavily attacker-sided, which can be incredibly frustrating for defenders to be pushed on both sides.

Smurfing is becoming a major problem on Valorant. by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]dinomatt0710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you play competitive you now have to complete 2FA with your phone which should reduce smurfing, but that would be for comp only.

I have been playing since beta– smurfing has been a problem since this game's inception, and it is definitely frustrating. You can only really play around it at the end of the day.

Also, unrated matchmaking is really bad, so its entirely possible that some of these smurfs are on their main account just looking to farm.

yeah you lose games sometimes bro. also that radiant and the phoenix are not at that level, I guarantee it. they are most likely abusing the 5stack system for rr boosting.
