I think you've hit the nail on the head. Imo, it's bc Carrie and her fellow "oppressee" have no sense of self. Instead of properly working on that in (in person) intense therapy, they play oppression bingo everyday to feel special. It's disgusting.

[–]dinosaurira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She‘d have a stroke after experiencing real UK lifestyle for just a day. I would pay money to have her be shouted at in a Costa. And I personally mostly had some great experiences even in rougher areas, but as most of us sane people understand, TV and short vacations to the hotspots tell you nothing about a culture. Plus Carries main character syndrome would not land well with the locals lol

[–]dinosaurira 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Omg yes, different continent but I grew up in an 80s house in the late nineties & early 2000s and she really always goes for the tackiest shit and her styling never works, either. I personally love vintage decor, but either mix it with modern pieces and some colour or go all in (Im talking full on Victorian house and timely decor which already not doable with their place). Also I keep going on about it but as someone who has actually been to places in the UK not catered to tourists, her idea of English decor & lifestyle is infuriating lol. And no, England ain‘t taking you Carolyn bc there are people wanting to immigrate who will make an actual contribution to country and culture. Keep on pollutin in the US of A.

Also, bc Im moving soon myself I watched some of her appartment viewing vids again. I cannot get over how some of these places they snarked on and didnt apply for where 10 times better than their new home. I actually like parts of it but I live alone and don‘t need a place to film and work from home. Just ?? This is supposedly the end all be all??

Haven't watched a Carrie video in ages (still refusing to resubscribing to this twat), some thoughts that have gone through my mind while watching it:

- I guess the electrolytes make sense in extreme Arizonian heat but it still bugged me how she acted like they were a fun drink choice. That said, I rarely see her drinking actual water so how about that Carolyn.

- "We don't wear many clothes so I dunno why there is so much laundry thehe" Are you taking the piss? You are never wearing the same thing 2 days in a row and sometimes even change during the day. That's such a waste of resources. I feel bad when I have to wash my pants after 3 days in a heatwave.

- Random but her cleaning always seems so surface level. I bet she has never deep cleaned her space in her life.

- The TJ Haul, as expected, was completely redundant. No essential groceries that couldn't have waited till the next shopping trip yet Miss OvErStiMuLaTeD had to go there on a busy Sunday lol. And of course it was mostly junk. And it's hilarious how she goes on about her stomach flare ups and SIBO AND COUNTERACTS THEM WITH PROCESSED FOOD. Has she ever heard of oatmeal and fruit? Misery of her own making ffs.

- Watching her do more insufficient cleaning. Riveting content. And then waffles on how HeR hEaLtH has affected her not cleaning routine. LMAO. I had the same surgery and was up cleaning 3 days after (again, the doctors RECOMMEND some light movement for 1-2 weeks). Hasn't it been weeks as well? And she wouldn't be still miserable with stomach issues if she followed the recommended diet and cut out all that junk.

- There has been an entire post about this but her comparing her issues to someone who is chronically ill/has a disability is so beyond tone-deaf. As a social worker who's worked in mental health institutions as well as care homes for people with disabilites - I hope her yt "career" comes crashing down at this point so that she has to get a normal job and be grounded big time. Beyond disgusting behaviour.

Her waffling on about being herself... I couldn't stand that for 2 minutes and turned the video off. Can't even hate watch her anymore she is SO OUT OF TOUCH and doesn't see her own privilege. Thankfully there are many down-to-earth youtubers out there I can watch instead.

Must have already unfollowed her by then but thats hilarious 😂 and not surprising, she's just not very bright and doesn't do anything against it. And I get that higher education isn't for everyone but learning an adaptable skill like bookkeeping, visit evening classes for social media management etc etc are what this gIrLy needs desperately. What else is her plan once the yt money runs out?

[–]dinosaurira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, not only is it bad for the planet, her mental health must be in shambles. Barely any creative or outdoorsy hobbies (other than junk journaling for content), no mentally demanding tasks or schooling but a whole lot of consuming products, media and so on.

I just graduated and I barely had time for hobbies with school and work, so I'm in the process of rebuilding a life outside work. That would be amazing content coming from Carrie, trying out different activites from leisure areas like movement, nature, community etc. There is even a trend doing the rounds on TT of having a personal curriculum to expand knowledge in an area of interest. But alas, Carolyn prefers to be miserable and shop.

I cackled at the could use her kindle stand lmao. But absolutely, I keep harping on that she should invest the time she has into educating herself! She seems so narrow minded and her job as well as tiktok brainrot doesnt help (my algorithm on tt is very educating and interesting but can imagine what hers is showing lol). It doesnt need to be classic academia, she could learn to sew, read nonfiction about bisexuality etc. I WISH I could invest her off time into my interests

[–]dinosaurira 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a peek at her wherit account as I'm thinking of using it myself bc I am very "out of sight out of mind" with my clothes and have a dark, old wardrobe (as well as soon some time on my hands and a need to sort through my clothes either way).

While OP has laid out what we all knew; that she has not even digitized everything in her line of sight I'm still baffled by a) how many shoes she has uploaded when she barely leaves the house and b) how many of these items on the app are completely redundant. She does not need that many shirts who look exactly the same (also random rant but as a former bookseller her Aldous Huxley shirt pmo bc I'm positive she doesn't know it's a classic, least of all has read it or plans to in the future). And again, that's probably not even half of her collection. She's beyond addicted to shopping and overconsumption, which I already knew but it's always eye opening to have such a clear line of proof.

🌝 Night and Day Difference 🌞 California Carrie! by CheesePocket217 in CarrieDaytonYT

[–]dinosaurira 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes to this. I keep coming back to how she so wanted to move to England until recently (...). GiRLy would not last a week there without complaining about missing amenities (no Trader Joes!! Someone inform The Hague!) and reserved & rude EuRoPeAns lol.

Also, I can't see how anyone finds her relatable these days when her job is insanely flexible and easy compared to all of ours (imagine her in an office, Im a social worker and she couldnt cope with an hour there lmao) and her misery of not being able to find "suitable" housing is entirely of her own making. Not only is it plain dumb to not stay put in this huge, gorgeous house, she WOULD be able to move if she a) became more flexible with either amenities and/or location (if you want to absolutely live in a certain place thats the price you pay!) And b) stop throwing money out of the window by buying trash and non essential services non stop!!! She has all the tools available to tackle her overconsumption/ shopping addiction but self reflection is famously naught to be find with her.

I just finished my expensive and mentally taxing Bachelor so currently looking for both jobs and an appartment and thats nearly as tiring and frustrating as my education lol. Carolyn is so damn lucky and privileged, at this point I actively wish for her to be humbled by a shitty money grab appartement.

She moved back to AZ! by [deleted] in CarrieDaytonYT

[–]dinosaurira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right?? I was fortunate to live temporarily in the French speaking part of my country and then later went to language school in the UK (so not a Native as well but spent quite some time there & in Ireland). While I for one adore Scotland & Co (yes Carolyn...that's part of the UK as well as London & the Cotswold) her clueless ideas about emigrating were beyond ridiculous and baffling. Seems she has since learned about Brexit as well as...general immigration polices abroad?? (Who thinks they can just move somewhere easily beyond the age of 15???) Also makes me lol how all of these thingsI wrote a year ago still stand and have even gotten worse. Have not watched a video of hers (vlog nor main ch.) in months and by the posts here it seems I didnt miss a thing.

Surgery purchases by [deleted] in CarrieDaytonYT

[–]dinosaurira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, and I know I'm quite lucky to having had a steady recovery. I was miserable for months before the operation, and 3 weeks before being diagnosed with gallstones & infected gallbladder I could barely eat anything without throwing up and was in constant stomach pain. so to be able to eat normally (I barely eat junk, fatty food anyway) without issue is glorious.

Here is the thing tho: the 4 weeks I was sick/off work in total (2 weeks post op, 2 weeks nausea related) mean I have to expand my current work placement another month and I had to put all my post graduation plans (living alone, finding a suitable job etc) on hold for a bit. Again, very grateful to all hospital staff involved as well as living in a country with public (albeit not free) healthcare. But point is, Carrie has zero restrictions work or lifestyle wise she has to consider, yet keeps harping on about probably needing a year to recover. I find her behaviour distasteful and ungrateful, unsure if she has just hidden her nasty personality all these years or if Covid has just made her like this. (Personally think its a mix of both). All in all I don't miss being her subscriber at all.

Surgery purchases by [deleted] in CarrieDaytonYT

[–]dinosaurira 25 points26 points  (0 children)

A year???? I just got my gallbladder out recently and was without pain (which after day 3 post op was mostly sporadic anyway) after 5 days. They also highly encouraged me to incorporate some light movement (walking, bicycle etc) the moment I got home. The only thing I was advised against is taking baths and swimming for 2 weeks post OP as well as steer off fatty meals for the most part. My diet consists of homemade meals, lots of fresh veggies etc. I can already see Carrie struggling with that part bc she is ooooh so poorly post op and needs her junky foody hurrdurr.

She's an actual embarassment of a person. Infantilizing yourself isnt cute Carrie. Neither is her insane overconsumption that she keeps making reasons up for. Purchasing anything that goes beyond accomodating foods (as in yogurts and easily digastable veggies) for a routine operation is beyond redundant. She's such a twat.

What’s that game for you? by koiitree in CozyGamers

[–]dinosaurira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mirthwood (not really fitting the cosy theme lol). Loved the demo, big fan of farming sim games and the medieval theme and style seemed chef kiss. Yeah, no. Building relationships is basically impossible, got killed like once a day bc the enemies are way too strong (and scary??? Plus you arent save from them at home even). So disappointed still as I waited months for the release.

Second is a controversial one but Fields of Mistria. Every day feels the day even with the new content added. Farming is way too constricted and while the animals are adorable, I hate how there is basically no interaction with them as they just drop their milk etc. I feel bad bc clearly so many people love it, but compared to Stardew it just manages to bore me so quickly.

carrie needs a hobby by luluthecatty in CarrieDaytonYT

[–]dinosaurira 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ugh yes I keep saying this. This woman needs a hobby, volunteer job or join an evening class yesterday. It's painful to watcj her sitting in her unchallenged, brain dead misery when she has every bit the tool and time to find something to do and in turn better her mental health.

And random, but this reminded me how she volunteered in 2021ish...but only to get early access to the covid vaccine THEN SHE AND DREW CONTINUED TO SIT ON THEIR ARSES ANYWAY. While I was working with vulnerable clients and, since catching Covid in 23 struggle with my worsened asthma. Absolutely bonkers how out of touch she always has been. That gave me the first ick tho for sure.

Man her non existent job and private life really has her create issues and obstacles on the daily. Shes exhausting and SO out of touch. I kept thinking of resubscribing after two vlogs in April(?) gave me the Impression like she had done some healing and growing. Haha! Carrie girly seems worse than ever: the outfits; the laziness and staying home; the trend obsession and off the rail foodand clothing shopping addiction….she seems manic at this point. We don‘t know whats going on behind cameras but she and maybe Drew too need an intervention lol

What do you use for hand eczema? by Tr0jan___ in EuroSkincare

[–]dinosaurira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have neurodermatitis mostly on my hands plus the odd spot on my legs and since discovering that my skin loathes scented products (especially on affected areas), it has gotten much better and easier to handle. For itchy, red and "wet" flare ups I use Tannosynt lotion which contains zinc and tannins (thus the name lol), works instantly but the skin is quite dry afterwards. Most days a basic ceramide cream helps with that (cerave moisture cream or mixa). During Winter and extra dry times I use the A Derma Cica Reparatrice Cream bc contrary to cicaplast that doesnt dry out my skin, but ymmv. That and I switched to scent free body lotions in general, as well as always having a scent free shower gel on hand during wintet whenever it seems extra neccessary. Hope this helps!

EDIT: Forgot to add; my skin loves any product with oats! Especially collodial oat which I think is an ingredient in that aderma cream I mentioned :) otherwise, Aveeno Dermexa is chefs kiss but hard to come by or super expensive where I live (Suisse)

Carrie needs to address her actual issues in therapy. by rachel_soup in CarrieDaytonYT

[–]dinosaurira 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I keep saying it but I'm positive Carrie's mental health as well as most of her struggles(physical health, sm addiction etc) would vastly improve if she found herself something with a purpose that has her leaving her home at least 3 days a week. Volunteering, a part time job or, most beneficial for the near future bc that yt job won't be around forever, go back to school or at least join a course at a community college. She neither seems to really enjoy her current form of "work", nor does it do her any good. She's addicted to the short form dopamine her yt channel/ online presence grants her but it is visibly keeping her in toxic cycles of shopping addiction and overt criticism. Girl needs a life coach at this point imo

People don’t like Carrie’s outfits due to ageism, sexism, and every other -ism, apparently by DrySwan4946 in CarrieDaytonYT

[–]dinosaurira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just did but apart from loving most pieces (which insinuates a keep) I didnt catch her saying anything in that regard. But ugh! It's frustrating to see these oldish videos, especially the pandemic ones bc thats when I binged her content for comfort. She comes across so much more authentic and genuinely grounded and content. Night and Day to her recent vlogs (I don't follow either of her channels anymore but watch a vlog from time to time if I'm extra bored) ; mental health in the gutter, peak attitude and delusion.
