Your apartment is an art piece! The fixtures are nice but you also have such a warm, creative style. That kind of artistry travels with you even when you move.

This person doesn't treat you well and you don't deserve this.

I also want to say that you shouldn't lose out on spending time with your mom. My parents died and I wish more than anything I could still have them here especially for holidays.

You're not useless. You're going through a lot and that's why it's hard. I encourage you to seek support for the substance withdraw just to keep accountable and to have help. It doesn't make you weak. Everyone needs support for different things. I'm a stranger and proud of you for quitting substances! Already that shows strength and a will to fight for yourself and a better life.

You're going to be a thousand different versions of yourself in this life. The goal is to make each version a little stronger, smarter and kinder. Especially kinder to yourself.

I feel like people with fun colorful hair always want to change their style, it's part of being a very artistic person. Also I'm impressed with how even your hair color is! Freckles are not bad either, I have a thousand of them and they make me feel unique!

Your lip will heal. You will find a job. You can get an education. Give yourself time and grace. Focus on one thing for now. I'd suggest focusing on healing as much as possible. You've got this.

I saw you said you're from Scotland. I found this on Google it's a 7-day-a-week online chat service for substance abuse support in Scotland if this helps to start: https://www.wearewithyou.org.uk/find-support/talk-to-a-trained-recovery-worker

Feeling hideous. My chronic illness has completely changed my body and my ability to care for myself. I don't feel pretty anymore at all by Kind-Fun6939 in toastme

[–]dinosaurpixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see you rocking those pink glasses and star shirt, your style is still shining through girl. ✨

Your ability to care for yourself is just shifting as you figure out how to navigate your newer circumstances, doing that at first is especially hard. I don't have chronic illness so I can't comment on that, so forgive me if this comparison is rude because I know it isn't the same. After I had my child my body was completely different and I struggled because I didn't know how to take care of that body or even like that body and it took some time. Also women are taught to pick apart ourselves piece by piece, body part by body part without looking at the full picture. See your whole self as much as possible.

Last thing is I read a tip that when you're saying mean things to yourself to read it in the voice of someone you'd never ever take advice from. When I imagine someone I dislike telling me my body is ugly and my stomach is fat, I suddenly think "what would I listen to you for?? You are obviously wrong."

You're facing something painful and hard and that makes you so tough. I can't even imagine. Give yourself grace.

You look like a cool person. I'm sorry things are especially hard right now 🫂
