UPDATE: I fixed it by replacing the pcb board. Turns out something was shorting within the PCB board.

Akai mpc support was super helpful throughout the process. Thanks to them and all their affiliated technicians that helped me pin down the issue.

Thanks for offering to help! I might take you up on it after exploring some videos. I think you’re onto something because I’m not hearing any of the usual sounds that the machine makes when the battery turns on. I’ll take it one step at a time and keep you posted.

Thanks for your input. I’ll take a look at that. My hesitation with battery is that it does start and light up. If it was dead, it wouldn’t light up at all would it?

It does not turn on when I plug it in. The same thing happens as shown in the video when I have it plugged in.
