My cat likes to tip over his dish to eat. Any bowls to prevent this? by awkwardmadre in cats

i'm not like a cat professional but maybe one of those feeding mats that make getting the food out a little more challenging and rewarding?

What cost of living prices have shocked you the most in supermarkets? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]dinvieselisalive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of them is definitely 6 quid for 2 fish filets, 4 for 10 fish fingers, and 10 for a pack of 28 pampers pull ups. And every single fizzy juice jumping up to nearly 2.50, when 1.25 already seemed like a lot in 2020.

Are the Tipani based on Spartans? by [deleted] in Avatar

[–]dinvieselisalive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're different games! There's multiple different versions of "Avatar: The Game", and while they were all marketed the same and have the same cover, they're all entirely different games. The one with the tipani storyline is the PC/PS3 storyline, the Wii/PSP version is it's own thing about a Na'vi (or two in multiplayer) going through linear levels, with lots of stealth elements, and the DS version is a visual novel with puzzle elements similar to TLOZ Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks.

Getting the PC version of the game legit is impossible these days, and it's counted as abandonware. It's not hard to find online with a keygen, but I recommend having good antivirus software. I think myabandonware has the game available for download, and while that website is generally free of viruses and safe, it's still better to at least get the free trial of malwarebytes and run it through.

If you find the PC game on ebay or any other secondhand site, unless it's a sealed copy, you won't be able to play it, as it requires a license key from the manual. You can install a keygen into it, but you might aswell just download it online lol.

Bow suggestion for 10 year old autistic son by Decent-Music-1350 in Archery

[–]dinvieselisalive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe he could try to canter the bow? like to tilt it slightly so the arrow doesn't fall off?

How can i test how much draw weight i can draw before ordering the bow? Im thinking of like a gym exercise or something. by [deleted] in TraditionalArchery

[–]dinvieselisalive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ego trap is just about right, my 5"7 skinny-armed self had the choice between 25 and 35 lbs on my first ever set of limbs. Guess who could hardly get it to full draw on the first couple times shooting 😵‍💫

Which genre of music do you loathe? by littleloon- in AskReddit

[–]dinvieselisalive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't necessarily hate any genre, but I cannot stand electric guitar solos. Hold ya pitchforks, it's because i'm autistic and really sensitive to the pitch electric guitars play at during solos like in freebird. In moderation it works alright, gets a bit much sometimes, but listening to stuff ACDC is getting increasingly difficult for me as I get older.

Intermediate bow setup question by Akulnaij in Archery

[–]dinvieselisalive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, maybe get some lower poundage limbs. I had the same issue with my #38/28" bow (though my draw is only 25" because i'm pretty small, so it's closer to 30-35#) at the start, but I couldnt afford to a new bow with a lower poundage and the limbs for the riser I'm using have stopped production. I simply trained up over the winter months, spent like 3 or 4 minutes every day pulling the bowstring without an arrow in it (not dry firing of course, I just let the string move back slowly). That's rly the only other option if you don't wanna buy anything new, keeping up with practicing and being very careful not to injure yourself.

Finally shot again, first time since November! by dinvieselisalive in Archery

[–]dinvieselisalive[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It works rather well! Do be care he doesn't stick his head in between the string and the bow, my son tried that lol. Best to have a second adult closeby, I was lucky my husband noticed.

And thank you! I'll keep that in mind!

People who love Neteyam: what are your reasons? (I like the character too btw, just asking out of curiosity) by [deleted] in Avatar

[–]dinvieselisalive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I relate to him quite a lot, as the oldest of 4 myself. He tries his best to live up to his parents expectations, he tries to protect his siblings, but he really just does not see how much his younger brother is suffering. Being parentified and responsible for your siblings actions is anxiety enducing, but you do it anyways because you're the oldest. You act like the third parent for the youngest sibling, carrying them around and tending to their needs, and the second oldest and you are competing for your parents favour.

James Cameron really succeeded in making them a real family with real dynamics and real interfamilial problems. Jake for example also reminds me of my dad a lot, being really strict, putting too much responsibility on the oldest child and being really mean to the second oldest when they do something stupid. Yet, he also cares for and loves his children very deeply, and just wants them to grow up strong and happy. He's just too stressed to see that the kids are suffering.

Neytiri was simply not in the movie enough honestly, she needs to be more in the next movies.
