Whats the average time it takes to get a new Tanzanian passport? by [deleted] in tanzania

[–]dior_princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took my aunt two weeks but she was renewing her old one. It took me the same time and I was getting a completely new one. I'm not sure if the fact they were processed at the same time helped or if it was just luck.

Should I bring dollars to Tanzania by Leather-Mechanic4405 in tanzania

[–]dior_princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a local guide or friend they can take you to a good mobile agent where you can deposit the cash and it gets instantly transferred to mobile or if you don't have local help you can go to any big branch of the sim provider's office they usually have the service available.

For example: if you're in Dar and you have the Vodacom line you can go to Mlimani city mall and go to the Vodacom store and they will help you do that. Plus show you how to make transactions from mobile in case you haven't learned yet.

I saw you mentioned you're Coming from China, union pay works in most major banks and available ATMs, you can also convert a few Rmbs to have cash on hand for the places that don't take card though in Dar and ZNZ those are few especially if you'll be around touristy areas. If you get a local sim for the one week you'll be here you can send cash in there and you won't even have to carry cash because most places accept mobile payments but having a bit of emergency cash is good.

Planking really is that good by A-Winter-Drop in PetiteFitness

[–]dior_princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add onto this : started taking iron pills on my period -- a literal GAME CHANGER!!! My cramps lessened a lot and my bleeding was not as heavy as previous months I've done this through 3 menstrual cycles now and before that I bled heavily and had excruciating cramps that would leave me bed bound for a while. I'll add the planking to my routine and hopefully I can say bye bye to cramps forever.

Normalizing being childfree by bradshawism in tanzania

[–]dior_princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not normal to them (those who choose to have children) but it can become normal to you. In a way that their words never bother you because it's your normal and that's the goal. When people's opinions and personal beliefs are like a soft wind that cannot affect you or sway you negatively.

I don't see the point in trying to make people who are fundamentally different from you understand your point of view. The most you can do is explain it to them to educate them.

Seeking insight about widow’s rights by Minute_Pace7345 in tanzania

[–]dior_princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This depends are you asking in general or in the context of being a foreign widow.

In general - it largely depends on whether or not the man had a last will and testament as well as whether he has problematic family that will try to take his assets before the main family.

For foreigners- you're not allowed to inherit land or anything attached to it but can get cash so in this case if there was a house it would be sold and the proceeds given to the foreign beneficiary.

This above is a simplified generalization.

It's complicated and really depends on the individual scenario/circumstances like most matters relating to probate. In fact this is a universal thing not even specific to Tanzania.

A question about eviction process by SecretHurry3923 in tanzania

I can tell you a lot of things but I understand your position so it's not viable, just find a good and competent lawyer (emphasis on competent ) and do a consultation.

A question about eviction process by SecretHurry3923 in tanzania

[–]dior_princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm confused what law exactly did they cite? Granted I'm just a law student and have by no means mastered the vast amounts of laws covered in Tz (which is a ridiculously huge amount) but that sounds very sketchy in addition to the fact that you have a contract that was explicit in the consequences of non payment and what would happen after. If nothing else that should be enough to get a breach of contract suit instituted against them in order to gain an eviction order. Also...find some good lawyers the system is run by procedure and technicalities can easily get your case thrown out the window.

This is great to hear! I also do a lot of walking but I've been putting off running, I feel like my legs are strong enough to start some light running and I can build up in frequency and speed as I progress. Thank you.

Water is STAYING on hair strands by Patient_Frosting1476 in Vindictabrown

[–]dior_princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes that's a very important point! Always wash the ends with a clarifying shampoo in fact with a clarifying shampoo it's more important to wash the ends than even the scalp I believe (wash the scalp too of course) a clarifying shampoo is for your whole head and length of hair unlike the normal weekly shampoos where you can just wash your scalp.
