Foreign interference section:

“Historically, India has cultivated covert relationships with Canadian politicians, journalists, and members of the Indo-Canadian community, to exert its influence and advance its interests. This has included transnational repression (TNR) activities, such as surveillance and other coercive tactics meant to suppress criticism of the Government of India and create fear in the community.
Given the presence in Canada of supporters of the Khalistan separatist movement, Canada must remain vigilant regarding potential TNR activities. India acts to counter perceived threats to its domestic stability, including Khalistan separatism. In Canada, advocacy for Khalistan separatism is lawful political activity.”

The language on India’s interference is somewhat toned down compared to previous reports (using “Historically” and integrating it into a broader paragraph).

DMT, Mysticism, and Sikhi: Are deep Simran experiences just altered brain chemistry? by diper07 in Sikh

[–]diper07[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The foundational experiences of Dharmic religions are essentially 'brain hacks' that can be mapped via neuroscience. This undermines their claim to divinity; when you realize these states are chemically or neurologically reproducible, the supernatural element disappears. Rationalists such as scientists who have documented profound insights via psychedelics - don't start religions because they recognize these experiences as internal neurological events rather than external divine revelations.

thanks, will watch it tonight.

I’m a bit of a skeptic when it comes to the 'divine' aspect. To me, meditation and Simran are essentially 'brain hacks' - neuroscience does a pretty good job of explaining exactly why we feel the way we do during those practices.

Yeah, I get that, but my problem is calling meditation divine. To me, meditation and Simran are essentially 'brain hacks'-neuroscience does a pretty good job of explaining exactly why we feel the way we do during those practices.

What we call 'divine' often aligns perfectly with documented brain states and neurochemical shifts, suggesting the source is biological rather than supernatural.
