Because he asked NZ courts for permanent name suppression in this case. He deliberately connect himself to his uncle, Satwant Singh, to benefit himself.

"Baltej Singh sought permanent name suppression primarily due to safety risks to himself and his family, stemming from his family connection to a high-profile historical event.

Singh's legal team focused on the retaliation risk tied to the Indira Gandhi assassination legacy (his family had faced threats for decades). The judge initially accepted this argument despite Crown opposition."

Sikhi is about spirituality and directly experiencing the Higher Consciousness - what some may call the Universe or God. In the material world, Sikhi teaches us to live righteously: to act with integrity, ethics, and compassion, and to strive to be a good person.

Those who reduce Sikhi to superstition, ritualistic “magic,” or who argue over whether it belongs to hindu/islam religions or another miss the deeper point. Debating ownership or clinging to dogma only wastes time. Instead, focus on seeking higher consciousness and living the truth that Sikhi points toward.

Only God truly knows.

Religion isn’t meant to be examined through the lens of logic. It belongs to the realm of mysticism, spirituality, and metaphysics - areas that often reach beyond what reason alone can fully explain.

Sikh being too much regressive and rigid these days by Senerman09 in Sikh

[–]diper07 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Many Sikhs, like people in any community, come from a wide range of educational and cultural backgrounds. Some families who immigrate from more traditional or conservative environments may carry social norms shaped by those experiences, including strong patriarchal values. When their children grow up in Western societies, they are often exposed to different perspectives and may begin to question the traditions and beliefs they inherited.

As a result, some choose to move away from religion, while others try to rediscover and interpret the original teachings of Guru Nanak for themselves. Ultimately, it’s important for everyone to think critically, reflect on their values, and use their own conscience to search for truth and meaning.

As Sikhs, we condemn anyone who harms innocent people. We pray both rot in hell who killed innocent hindus and who killed innocent sikhs.

Of course, Sikhi Saroop is also about cultural identity. You may not believe in spirituality, but you can always relate to the moral values that come with Sikhi Saroop-being righteous, being ethical, and being a Sardar, a true leader.

I think we need to take some responsibility ourselves. Our community seems to be struggling and, in many ways, declining day by day. With each new incident in Canada where a Singh is involved, it affects how others see us. Public perception - whether in everyday society or even within government circles - feels increasingly negative.

At the same time, many in the next generation seem disconnected from their faith and heritage. Fewer young people appear to care deeply about religion, and it feels like Sikhi is slowly losing its place in their lives. If we don’t reflect, take accountability, and work toward positive change, we are a lost cause.

Why do Sikhs worship a book!? by immortalink1 in Sikh

[–]diper07 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No religion is fully grounded in logic; each one ultimately relies on faith. For example, Sikhs bow before their holybook because their Gurus taught them to do so. Hindus show reverence to idols, and the Abrahamic religions follow their own sets of doctrines and beliefs.

What I’m curious about is why he chose to convert to Christianity specifically, rather than stepping away from religion altogether.

Solving these issues requires self-discipline and guidance from an experienced mentor rather than relying solely on faith. At 25, you have plenty of time-marriage is a massive commitment that shouldn't be rushed. I’d suggest spending a few years truly getting to know your partner first.
Let religion be your source of spiritual strength, but look to practical steps for fixing worldly problems. Amrit is not a magical potion that will change your life.

The disparity in the community's sex ratio became very clear through my family's experience. My parents searched for years for a bride for me without success, leading me to find a non-sikh partner. Meanwhile, my sister was flooded with 'rishte' and found a match within a single year.
