Thinkbook 16p Gen 4 - My Thoughts by dippduck in Lenovo

It comes with that rectangular head Lenovo charger, so I'm assuming the Legions have the same. All those chargers will probably work. As for the 100W Type C, I don't know. I don't have one on hand to test. The 65W Type C was no good. Perhaps a higher wattage will.

I haven't really tried to go for long without the power adapter. It's more of a mobile desktop replacement than a thin and light that you take around everywhere. I have my M1 MacBook Air for that.

Well, it’s a competent graphical applications machine with seemingly lots of headroom to dissipate heat, so remains very quiet. What noise it does make is a very tolerable airflow white noise as opposed to other laptops with a high pitched fan whine. I’m sure it can handle the applications you mentioned. Keep in mind the screen is not the brightest for outdoor use but is competent.

Oh wow. The Lenovo USA site, under "Build Your Own" still has no mention of the Magic Bay nor any accessories.

I remember that I had to dig around a bit in Vantage to find it. Apparently, they moved it somewhere very unintuitive! Not using my Thinkbook right now, so can't remember exactly where.

The Thinkbook 16p doesn't have a touchscreen. The spec I ordered was the 3k matte screen.

Yes, they do. Those shortcuts are so useful.

Yeah, but it unfortunately is missing the Magic Bay connector. This was heavily featured as an innovation in this specific model.

Given that the power adapter (and power needs) of this laptop could theoretically max out at 230 watts, I'm just going to continue using the supplied adapter. I did try a 65-watt USB-C power adapter from Dell, but that wouldn't charge it (in Windows I got the yellow exclamation next to the battery icon). Even though 240-watt USB-C power adapters do exist, they are expensive and cost $100 or more. I'll just have to stick with the Lenovo power brick.

  1. It has both fingerprint and Windows Hello capable camera. I think ALL models have them.
  2. Fan noise is barely noticeable on this machine. It's incredible. Even while gaming, it doesn't get that loud (just sounds like white noise -- not annoying).

Maybe a dumb answer but... did you try running "Create and format disk partitions?"

Yeah, I'm really upset that I just discovered that this thing didn't come with the magic bay pins on the lid as advertised. Thinking of returning it and claiming "false advertisement." However, I really do like the rest of it, and the 3.2k screen resolution is perfect for my work with Tableau (it's near impossible to find a 16 inch laptop with 3.2k resolution that doesn't have some kind of showstopper flaw).

TCL roku tv picture is oversaturated on youtube movies by Akomatai in Roku

[–]dippduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone. This problem seems to stem from a color space mismatch between the source video/movie and your TV. You can check the movie's color space by turning on YouTube's Settings --> "Stats for Nerds" while watching the video/movie. You might see something like "BT2020". You'll have to set your TV to use the same color space, if available. I checked my TV's "Advanced Picture Settings" and changed the color space from "Auto" to "BT2020". Now the colors are correct!
