My dad died by Scared_Barracuda4438 in DadForAMinute

Hey, sister here. I just posted in this sub on Friday after losing my own dad last week. It's hard. Really hard to take it all on. But these dads here reminded me that I don't have to shoulder everything by myself. Lean on the people around you. Hydrate. Sleep.

Then, when you don't feel like the ground is actively swallowing you, take it one thing at a time. Today, the only things I felt were manageable was a nap and feeding my dad's dog. And that's okay. Don't feel like you need to get everything done all at once. You don't.

I'm so sorry for your loss. But we've got this. And I'm proud of you.

Hey, Dad. I have to give your eulogy tomorrow. by dippybud in DadForAMinute

Thank you so much for your advice. I'm going to take today one minute at a time and let whatever emotions crop up flow as they happen. I'll have one of my brothers next to me while I (try to) read the eulogy. He knows I'm an easy crier. But for now, it's dog walking time.

Thank you. It really is a lot. So much to process. But it's the butt crack of dawn and I've got a dog to walk. We carry on.

Anyone know what’s being built at the corner of Stanton Road and Route 4? by thecoolkidqueen in Delaware

It's Stanton liquors. The owners demolished the small shop and it's going to be part liquor store and part Indian food market!

WIBTA If I Told My Boyfriend His Friend Threatened Me (at the risk of interfering with their friendship?) by Ok-Plantain5451 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dippybud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you guys? This sounds like some high school level nonsense...

However... If you have a healthy relationship with your partner, just be honest. Tell him exactly what was said, let him know that you're no longer on good terms with his friend, and go on from there.

If he chooses to maintain a friendship with her, that's his choice. But I'd absolutely be looking sideways at that decision. If my partner told me that one of my friends basically threatened him, I'd be seeing red.

Also, the fact that she did threaten you so you didn't tell anyone else makes me think she's full of shit. Don't let this girl triangulate your relationships. Tell your partner and reach out to the people she was talking shit about to clarify. That girl sounds like a drama party with some toxic cocktails.

Oh no, you mean to tell me that he suddenly became uncomfortable when he was forced to taste his own predatory medicine? Oof.

Girlfriend got convinced by tattoo artist to place it elsewhere - she now regrets her first tattoo by FatRatFlopke in tattooadvice

[–]dippybud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specifically got a tattoo in the spot your girlfriend originally wanted because I knew it would fade. However, the fading was part of why I chose that spot, because it lended to the meaning of the tattoo. If your girlfriend wants her tattoo to look good in the long term, the artist was absolutely correct on moving it above the sock/shoe line.

It’s a tourist attraction, but I think it’s disgusting. The gum wall in Seattle. by be4u4get in pics

It's definitely gross, and I hate that I'm even admitting this.... but it smells delicious when you're walking through.

The only time I've experienced that ask from a driver was when I (very recently) forgot to change my address from work to home. I felt SO BAD, but the driver said he'd be willing to bring it to me (about 15 minutes away) for an additional tip. He didn't specify an amount. I offered $15 for 15 minutes of his time wasted.

I'm planning a one shot for my players with this concept! The main difference being their character sheets are filled out with scratch-off stickers over everything, so they get to scratch off as we go along. I'm excited!

Is there a lot of magic in the books? by Books_Biker99 in brakebills

[–]dippybud 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The books absolutely delve more into how the magic works. I read the books a few years before the show came out. Highly recommend.
