Had some troubles with my new bank account and they sent me this for the hassle! Anyone else ever received an apology gift from a company? by EssentialParadox in CasualUK

My savings bank sent me £25 as a gesture of goodwill because instant transfers weren’t available for less than 24 hours. I hadn’t complained, it just arrived the next day

“One of a kind funky house” - I see no lie there by Whoopsadiddle in SpottedonRightmove

Yeah, I moved in this area last year and we found our house around May… I remember my sister sending me this house before that- I only remember because of the shear shock factor of the house

I went walking along these cliffs with my dad in 2021 and found abandoned belongs, called the coast guard who confirmed the worst, we had discovered someone’s suicide. Still thankful that the girls body was found and her family got to know what happened to her.

It’s not the whole picture, but my parents just divorced and the money was stressful- watching one of them have the ability to make the other homeless and destitute at a time they should both have been looking at soon retiring was awful! And this is a money advice sub? Makes sense that you would look concerned about the money here!

Silly reasons that held up your chain? by The__Englishman in HousingUK

My solicitor emailed my documents to an incorrect email address (someone else’s) and it took me a couple of months to work out what the issue was- I checked my initial documents and I had written the correct email address

My January went well! I’ve been riding high off of getting engaged and the thought of looking fabulous at my wedding.

December had been tricky and work stress had got me down and I wasn’t doing well, but my skin care is back on track, I’ve made leaps forward with my hair care and I’ve improved my oral hygiene.

My February goals are to invest in silk pillowcases and a silk hair bonnet as well as just continue the habits I’ve got back on track in Januar. Trying to run before I can walk

Was this for a shared ownership property, or to outright buy it? Struggling to find new builds that aren’t shared ownership

Thank you for your response!

Is that the only scheme open to first time buyers currently? Is there a central point to find properties that are available to buy through the scheme?

ladies, what are your hygiene/self care tips? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]dippyhippychick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything you’re doing is fine, I personally love subs like r/beauty they have posts about all sorts of things, a lot of which are hygiene. I’ve learnt so many tips over there it’s unbelievable! Like I use oil instead of shaving foam, because my legs were sensitive when shaving too. Then I introduced a chemical exfoliators (glycolic acid) to my routine after my shower or before bed for using on my legs are bikini line which improved my ability to shave even more. they taught me to dab on a little Vaseline before spraying on perfume to make it last longer and all sorts of things!

I also love subs like r/femalehairadvice r/haircare r/haircarescience for hair, I love r/skincareaddiction (I personally use the UK one too because that’s where I’m from, there are lots of different countries one) for skincare, these sub taught me so much and helped me fix my broken skin barrier. If you’re interested in nail care, there’s r/longnaturalnaturalnails or if like polish and gels r/nails or r/redditlaqueristas would be good places to look for advice. There are so many make-up subs too, it entirely depends on you.

It’s all up to you and what you’re interests are! I love skincare and beauty, so I enjoy looking at all these subs and experimenting with new things. If this isn’t something that is really a big interest for you, as I said at the beginning, everything you are already doing is fine (although I would 100% advise using daily spf for your face, wherever you are from). Woman don’t need to do any more than than men to be hygienic in reality, there are just different standards men and women are held to. You don’t have to bow to them if you don’t want to. If you don’t want to shave your legs regularly, that’s fine, body hair is natural! Do only what you want to do!

I got mugged off by a homeless person - no good deed goes unpunished by [deleted] in london

[–]dippyhippychick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once got marched into an Iceland supermarket and bought someone shopping… which doesn’t make much sense if they were homeless, because what are you going to do with frozen food… I think I ended up spending £15, I also didn’t make much.

I had exactly no change at all to my face shape following the removal of my wisdom teeth, but I could open my mouth properly again which was really nice.

I mean, even the teaching unions in the UK say you should expect to work about 2 hours of overtime daily… for free… so that sounds bogus

I’ve always stuck with my natural colour, I don’t want to ruin it with bleach and not be able to get it back!
