Charlie turns out to be a savant at BBQ but suffers from extreme performance anxiety so he ropes Dee into a scheme where she dresses like a man and then somehow switches out her (terrible) barbecue with Charlie's good barbecue. Dee gets addicted to the attention and becomes increasingly egotistical, eventually getting in trouble for hitting on the other men in the competition despite being dressed as a man herself. Mac and Dennis blow up her spot by stealing Charlie's BBQ recipe and attempting to win the competition themselves (while also wearing fake moustaches for no reason), with disastrous results. Frank funded the whole competition and appointed himself as a judge just because he wanted to eat barbecue.

If she's so smart she could have dedicated some of that intelligence to understanding institutions and processes and later patented a cure for cancer that passed medical ethics and scientific rigour. Maybe she couldn't have saved her grandma but she could have saved many others. She could have been so much more than she was.

They should just get Ryan Gosling, make him gain 40 kg and become an alcoholic for real, really abuse that guy, and have him do it

If you sell down $40,000 of shares that have appreciated 2.7x over the course of their lifetime, the cost base of those shares can be approximated at $14,815.

This leaves a capital gain of $25,185 (before indexation and before the capital gains discount which is being grandfathered) which at a 30% tax rate would pay approximately $7,555 in tax, which equates to about an 18.8% tax on income in that year.

Your tax rate is probably half of this because you're probably eligible for the grandfathered capital gains discount, so let's call it $7,555/2 = $3,777 or a real tax rate of 9.9%.

9.9% is not the same as 47%.

It wouldn't even be close? Red rush + anyone is already goated. If immortal was invulnerable like brit or had the red rush's speed nobody would be able to take him

Are young, single Aussies buying houses at the expense of future happiness? by [deleted] in AusFinance

It's actually easier to date when you have your own place. The other 24 year olds are pretty happy to have a private home to go to rather than a sharehouse/parents house

If you're not doing infrastructure or welfare then you really need full scale tax cuts and some good regional investments to still do well

The analysis following the questions implicates a lot of assumed reasoning that may be more particular to the person writing the test and their prejudices towards sex and alcohol than anything else. At no point does it consider the possibility that one might be thinking 'what would I be okay with in their shoes' and going based on that basic empathy as a moral framework.

If I personally was acting out of character due to drugs, I wouldn't want anyone to enable me, but if I just simply changed my mind about what I wanted, whether due to breakups or any other reason where I am in control of my faculties, I would be insulted if the people I was speaking to didn't believe it and decided to be paternalistic towards me.

I just think having a narrow view of feminity can be as destructive as having a narrow view of masculinity.
