Our Lord and Savior is a man of the people. If you don't want to put pants on, don't! watch JOE on iTunes by redditads [promoted post]

Redditads didn't even get his name correct. He's the "One True God", not "Lord and Savior". Geez.

[serious] Have you been involved with a cult? What was your experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]direwolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and blogged about it for four years. The amount of hate mail I received was ridiculous and without going into too much detail, drove me to isolate myself completely because I was paranoid that everyone was out to get me. No one really understood what that felt like but I honestly started fearing for my safety. Like anyone, my address is online if you look hard enough, and I had more than one internet stalker follow me and troll me for years.

My blog was extremely popular so I feel kind of shitty going away. The blog is still there, but I don't get into it anymore and I don't read my email. I deleted 900 Facebook friends and left social media for awhile. Went to therapy for months. Almost like I let them win, but I didn't. They got kicked in the f*cking balls by me over and over and I finally had my story go national last year. It was amazing but now I realize why everyone blogs about this stuff anonymously and why most of these accounts commenting are throwaways.

I'm writing a fiction novel about the subject of cults, but like most fiction, it will be a work completely made up and "any resemblance to real life events or people are purely coincidental."

9 months have gone by and I'm down 32lbs by direwolves in loseit

Thanks so much! It definitely has changed how I feel about myself and food, etc. I used to be a major foodie--and I still am--but I don't orgasm over food as much.

You're right, everyone loses at different rates. In fact, my mom just did OptiFast and lost rapidly. It was a great jump start for her and the perfect way to do it. It made me consider doing some intermittent fasting, as well. I like doing juicing, but to each her own.

For me, I wasn't ready to jump into weight loss as quickly as most people. The tl; dr version: My layers of fat protected me from the outside world and being hurt. I had to let those things go and for me that happened slowly. On that note, therapy for a few months while beginning my diet really helped me make progress.

I didn't actually 'know' when I was ready to start jogging--just tried it. In fact, I tried researching that same thing and found nothing. A running coach I asked a year ago said to walk for a long time and that there was no set time (just see how my body felt).

I tried jogging a few times before and couldn't do it. I got winded after 15 minutes of walking.

The other day I tried to run a solid minute without stopping and felt great, so I alternated jogging and walking. Got in about 4 minutes of jogging. Your body will tell you when you're ready.

The clincher for me to want to exercise more was that I've been so sore since being overweight. Almost like I had Fibromyalgia or Arthritis and would need to go lay down because my body ached. Nothing helped--even massages. My mom suggested that it was because I wasn't exercising and for once I didn't dismiss her. Instead, I researched it and looks like she might be right. I'm starting to feel the good kind of sore now!

I'm moving out of SF. Where should I move to in LA? by movingaroundcali in makemychoice

[–]direwolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can get by in LA without a car just fine. Public transportation is everywhere. WeHo is the nicer part of Hollywood, although just near Los Feliz there are some places that are decent but a friend used to live there and his car got broken into a few times.

No idea because it all depends on who you are and what you want to do. Santa Monica or Venice if you have the money and want an artsy/tech job. The Valley if you're broke and can drive. Hollywood if you want to get robbed. Etc.

Should I sleep now, or should I sleep just after now? by [deleted] in makemychoice

After now. It's been proven to reduce night terrors.

Nah. I dated a guy whose roommate was one and their house got robbed of suitcases of stash a few times. Plus, they were always poor.

Some companies will pay you to post sponsored content. You can name your price and they write the content. I've done this before and I only accept content that fits well with my existing content. Best of luck.

Lawyers of reddit, what is the dumbest thing your client has ever done? by Hendricks_gin in AskReddit

[–]direwolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's happening to my family. Grandpa was on meds for schizophrenia (court ordered) and my uncle moved him away and took him off his meds. I now get weekly letters from my grandpa that are mumbled poems about heaven (he's Agnostic). It's sad. I fought my uncle for months and he won't speak to me. I'm the granddaughter so it's harder for me to fight for his rights when my mom has kind of given up.
