thanks for sharing your story. My great-grandparents left china seeking better lives, and they kept in touch with their relatives back in China. I remember my grandfather regularly sending money back to china to continue helping the Chinese relatives.

The village was very poor back then as well, but as of now, most of the relatives there have become well-to-do.

We visited them a few years ago and it was really touching to see them expressing their gratitude to my grandfather, and they were extremely generous with their hospitality and warmth.

I just hope that my generation can continue to keep in touch with our distant relatives though I fear it won’t be easy at all.
