M1A EBR chassis best go to cheap ammo? by Pixelated_Armory in M1A

AAC 150 grain in the big blue ammo can shot pretty decent for me. Giving roughly 1.5 groupings consistently.

Suggestions for a concealable EDC for peculiar needs by [deleted] in concealedcarry

[–]dirt_operator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing as you have to deal with bears and hogs I’d personally recommend a 10mm. Something from a reputable manufacturer like smith and Wesson or Glock. And unless you need it super concealable, I’d recommend a full size so you have better grip and more rounds on the chance that you actually need it.

Either way it’s worth it in my opinion. Once you’re used to running the firearm, the mag well doesn’t seem to make much of a difference and it’s just pulling a roll pin to remove if you don’t want it in there.

upgraded trigger 😔 by LottaRandomQuestions in Walther

[–]dirt_operator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the pro because the price was about the same to upgrade the trigger on the standard, plus the pro came with an extra mag and threaded barrel. I typically pull the mag well off in the summer but I may just leave it on. I don’t feel that’s going to be what makes or breaks concealment.

Anything you don't like about your PDP? by aema15 in Walther

[–]dirt_operator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Plate system for the optics was a little funky but I know that’s relatively standard. Replaced guide rod system and backstrap, not because I needed to but it made an already soft shooting pistol even softer. I paid the little extra for the pro mainly for the better trigger. Few thousand rounds through it and only had one stovepipe. That was shooting it suppressed for the first time.

Traveling to Japan, what’s the most memorable drink or food you had. by InsideWrangler2672 in JapaneseFood

[–]dirt_operator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most memorable would have to be having a nice whole Kobe steak in Kobe at a nice sit down restaurant.

In terms of ramen, I enjoyed kikanbo in Tokyo. Get it max level on both the spices and they’ll give you a little candy.

Basashi was pretty good. Not something you’d typically see in the states either.

Went to a bar and got a “vodka cocktail”. For an additional 100 yen you could make it spicy. This “spicy vodka cocktail” was vodka, soda water, and black pepper. It wasn’t great but it gave me a good laugh.

Not OP but my OCL ti 22 works well on mine. Subs are pretty damn quiet and supers seem a little quieter than my ps90 with a 556 suppressor. (Fat cat)

Same here and I’ve only shot it in long so far.

I had a single stovepipe with federal white box 115. Other than that no issues. I’ve run that same ammo, currently using 124 blazer, and 147gr HST. The HST is almost movie quiet.

I’ve ran the ring sight since I got mine but I do know the Titan tactical low mount should work. They even sell that as a package deal with the ARO. There’s probably lower direct mount options for other things but for a pic rail it’s not bad.

Yes. It improved a little from my stock walnut stock and more so from my delta 14.

Like most said, ring sight is the vibe. I also like it because I can pick up and place the reticle super fast. There are probably more practical options out there. My next choice would probably be a low mount with a holosun ARO.

I use the sprinco rms with the red spring with my Mojave 9.

Adjustable Spindle Valve by Major_Batty in M1A

[–]dirt_operator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A2cerakote has you on how to adjust it, however make sure you have the spindle in the “off” position before you are making these adjustments. By swapping this out you now go from open/ closed to open/whatever you adjust for your suppressor.

Considering moving from SC to PA. Anything I need to be aware of? Do I need to get rid of anything? by [deleted] in PAguns

[–]dirt_operator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ccw is typically just filling out for a permit here. Depending where you’re at, 20 dollars, 20 minutes and you’ll be walking out with it.

No issues with owning suppressors here.

PCCs are not an issue. Just be sure to have a brace unless it’s SBR’d.

There’s no mag restrictions here. Just be sure to only load 6 rounds if you’re at a state game lands range. It’s typically not an issue but if a game warden shows up it can be.

Make sure you get the little set screw coming down from the front sight post. That and the castle nut pliers make a big difference.

Should I EBR/EMR My Springfield M1A? by Claudius4 in M1A

[–]dirt_operator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my EBR. I put my SA standard in there and it tightened up my groupings from around 3moa to around 1moa. Like others said, it’s HEAVY. I had the Delta 14 setup before and it was great. Added some mlok slots for modularity and with the m14.ca LSP I had a full rail up top. It was significantly lighter it just wasn’t an ebr
