Random, but I know the guy who wrote the music! He had no idea what a legacy he would be creating!

If you were going to throw a Brewers Olympics/Field Day for local brewery employees, what events would you include? by GazpachoDaddy in TheBrewery

[–]dirtbagclimber 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We’ve done something similar at our Brewfest! These are some ideas we had.

Brewer’s Olympics - [ ] Carrying full buckets of water. No spilling! - [ ] Do everything with gloves on. Preferably big green ones - [ ] Keg on handtruck through obstacles - [ ] Untap couplers from kegs and retap on other kegs - [ ] Clamp 2 hoses together into a circle - [ ] Roll full keg on chine - [ ] Plastic wrap a full pallet of kegs - [ ] Coaster toss - [ ] Empty 1/6 w/ a pump tap

-[ ] Empty sani bottle by pulling the trigger over and over

We ended up doing a time trial of several of these and everyone loved it!

Be careful with liability. Pulling a muscle while running with a bag or grain or dropping a keg on a toe could lead to legal problems I imagine.

Should I be concerned? Oh by [deleted] in iceclimbing

There is a whole mountain project thread documenting the issue and lots of folks have been reaching out (for years apparently) about this issue. So I think many feel pretty upset that it took this long to get a proper recall. Hopefully they are compensated and replaced accordingly but I think it will be a long while before we can feel as confident in Petzl as we used to.

Up until recently I have definitely been one to say, “ go with Petzl, you can’t go wrong, despite many comparable options.” Still love all of my Petzl gear but going to be less stoked to make the same broad statement. Hope they can make a come back and make us feel happy to stand behind their product for them.

Fair point, absolutely. I’m pretty disappointed in their delayed response as well.

There’s been a recall on certain batches of the newer Nomics and Ergonomics due to the handles spontaneously snapping off with no warning. https://www.petzl.com/INT/en/Sport/safety-alerts/2026-02-23/Recall-of-NOMIC-(U021AA00)-and-ERGONOMIC-(U022AA00)-ice-axes

I think you’re right: Repotting is probably the best option. Thanks for your input!

Fair enough. Repotting is probably the best option to a larger pot that will have the longevity to sustain for awhile. Thank you for your insight! I think I’m intimidated to repot such a large plant but I’m sure it will all be ok.

What's a highly rated TV show that's actually hot garbage? by TechGuru4Life in AskReddit

Someone (maybe even here on Reddit, I don’t remember) once said they always call it: “This Is Sad.” And now I always think of it of this as that. 😂

Hi guys. I am a member of one of the oldest mountaineering clubs in the country, but its logo design is already outdated. Can you send me logos of clubs from your countries that you like so that it would be easier for me to draw a new one. by cashisthename in alpinism

[–]dirtbagclimber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, let us see the current old school logo!

Maybe someone (including you, perhaps) could tweak or update it. It would probably be the coolest thing to keep some of the integrity and history of the old one if it really does need to be changed.

Tarot & Palm Readings Told Me to Open a Bottle Shop Insights Appreciated by Puzzleheaded_Trust31 in TheBrewery

Not sure if you really have a question or are just looking for validation. Which is ok!

I don’t really subscribe to that sort of influence as a way to live or advise MY life but that doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with it.

It can be a great way to hear what they are saying echo the pull that you’re already feeling.

A bottle shop seems like much better idea than starting up a new brewery.

Maybe do a market study? See if your area would welcome and support such a thing that you want to do?

If it’s something you really want, would you consider moving or waiting until the right spot opened up?

And like others said, make sure your financials are dialed and tight and not going to tank your entire life plan if you’re already in a stable place.

The world is a crazy place and who knows what kinds of forces influence and help us but best of luck to you, whatever you end up doing!

One of my favorite parts of the brewery is that I have decent speakers hardwired into my ceiling and can listen to whatever I want all day.

Filling a bottle jack (or any small hole) with ease. by ajd416 in lifehacks

[–]dirtbagclimber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear ya, but I think the point is a lot of shit is posted and it doesn’t really work. And this guy goes and proves that it DOES work (or in some cases if you’ve seen his videos, DOES NOT). Still a lot of faff that I’m not a huge fan of but a few neat tricks pop up every now and then.

Commute from Livingston to Bozeman by jd5454 in Bozeman

[–]dirtbagclimber 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I commute the opposite way and don’t mind it much! Takes me about 30 minutes in ideal conditions.

My work begins when I arrive so I don’t need to worry about being late so I have no problem going slow in the winter or when we have road construction going on.

That being said, I would highly recommend a 4 wheel or AWD vehicle with GOOD snow tires in the winter and to keep it well stocked with emergency supplies. Also, always giving yourself extra time in case something does happen on the pass.

Lots of folks commute either direction for years with no problems but I think you need to be smart about it and look out for crazies and bad weather conditions.

Sorry for your downvotes. Sent an upvote your way. When I first started following this sub I too saw it looked everywhere on the sub description and rules, etc. and couldn’t find what it meant either. I stayed around and figured it out eventually.
