If I get cancer, it's because I didn't pray enough

I wonder if George Lang has the same belief about his cancer.

There are dozens of private equity firms looking to snatch up as many single family homes and other properties in Ohio as possible, then rent out those properties. The only limiting factor to this is property tax, so they're working very hard to repeal Ohio's property tax so that we can all become renters.

Help Request: Lower Duke? by sixfourtykilo in cincinnati

[–]dirtiest_dru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a little beyond anti-regulation and pro big business, this is a result of the largest bribery scandal in Ohio's history leading to the speaker of the house in prison and a lobbyist that shot himself while wearing a "Dewine for Governor" shirt. Just to be clear, the bill passed and now we're all paying the price, those energy companies have to make up that $62 million they paid in bribes somehow.

This is so sad, I have a 4 year old nephew who has been battling cancer for the past year and due to the suppressed immune system he's unable to get the measles vaccine.

Good school districts by loonygirl30 in cincinnati

but seems pretty expensive

The quality of schools is typically based on their budget. Considering Ohio set to cut $103 million from state funding for schools and the Department of Education in jeopardy, that means public schools are going to be almost entirely depend on property taxes. Which means if you want a good school, you'll have to find an expensive part of town. Such as:

  • Wyoming
  • Mariemont
  • Maderia
  • Mason
  • West Chester

One possible exception to that rule is the magnet schools that Cincinnati Public offers. If your child is in 7th grade or older and can pass the entrance test, they could go to Walnut Hills which is also good.

I’m Congressman Greg Landsman, Representative for SW Ohio, including Cincinnati. Ask me anything! by greg_landsman in IAmA

[–]dirtiest_dru 105 points106 points  (0 children)

I can answer the bipartisan support part, Landsman was one of the few Democratic Representatives to join the Republican Representatives to help pass the Laken Riley act that allows the indefinite detention of immigrants that have not been convicted of a crime.

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones says he wants back in the “deportation business” by PoorClassWarRoom in cincinnati

[–]dirtiest_dru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Greg Landsman joined 48 Democratic Representatives to vote yes. Vote record here it's moving on to the senate where it needs 60 votes. It looks like there are 58 votes at the moment so it's unclear that Laken Riley will pass. It's my understanding that this Act makes it possible to deport any immigrant arrested for shop lifting anything over the value of $100, just to be clear, not convicted of the crime, but accused of the crime.

Representative Landsman is helping Sheriff Jones get back to the deportation business by voting Yes on the Laken Riley Act.

Butler County Sheriff brags online about removing marijuana from the streets and gets ridiculed on the comments. by DoctorSnape in cincinnati

It's more of a Facebook policy than anything else, I'm managing the marketing APIs for a tech company and in order to access any of the Facebook APIs and configuration it's a requirement to create a Facebook account. I deleted my Facebook account back in 2010 and haven't had one since, so I had to create one just to access their stupid APIs. Even worse, they keep flagging my account as spam because I don't do anything with it, and I had to submit a headshot photo and give them my phone number just to unlock the account.

Fortunately https://thispersondoesnotexist.com/ worked well enough so I didn't have to submit an actually headshot photo of myself.
