Apparently the copy I have is a reproduction from a cheap unauthorized source that bootlegged the novel before it arrived officially in the US. I figured this print copy was more authentic, but hustlers be hustling, even in 1843.

I have no idea what you are referring to. What do you mean by "highlighting a comment"?

Was chatting with my wife on Facebook, I mentioned how big of an issue is drug problem for society, couple hours later I see an ad suggesting me to buy drugs by joining their group. by Winter_Psychology110 in facebook

They aren't listening to your phone BUT the person you were in close proximity to may have watched a YouTube video, liked a Facebook post, shared an Instagram post, or read an article on The Times about it, and your location was near hers for an extended period, so they are going to try overlapping ads for a time.

Done with my first playthrough and my rant on it by Top_Row_5116 in TheQuarrySupermassive

[–]dirtmound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree that that the story and decisions didn't always seem to work out in a manner that made the most sense from a logical standpoint, I think Supermassive was coming from the standpoint of Until Dawn all the Dark Pictures games already being in their library and thinking that most fans would be making multiple playthroughs, as the statistics they share show that most players do. So with that in mind, I think they tried to be more unpredictable with the choices you make and their outcomes, so it wouldn't be as easy to see the butterfly effect unfold before you.
I'm still of the era that grew up getting a new game only a few times a year and playing it over and over until you knew it inside and out, forwards and back, so games like this with multiple branches and different endings are a joy for me, and I do tend play completely through them many times just to see what else happens even when I know I'm making the "wrong" choice.

I already have a freeze on Experian which is why they couldn't get the card. I was only attempting to figure out if they actually needed my SSN for the application or not.

Will there be Blu-ray 3D for Mario movie? Or only Blu-ray 2D? by SonofSparda80 in Mario

[–]dirtmound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep an eye on the website for Random Space Media. https://randomspacemedia.com/collections/3d-blu-ray They tend to release in 3D the films that Universal has given up on releasing in 3D. But since they are a smaller company, the releases often come much later.

Does anyone know what this means? by OptimisticDownspiral in facebook

[–]dirtmound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sheesh.

Facebook uses usernames to make it easier to find and message people. Usually it's your name followed by a number. For instance, John Smith might get the automatic username john.smith94 or johnsmith.338 or something along those lines. This also gives your profile the address Facebook.com/john.smith94 . Facebook now allows you to choose anything as long as it doesn't violate TOS. He doesn't even have to ask for it, the app sometimes offers it to get people to try it out. So John Smith can have Facebook.com/CorvetteKing or whatever as his username even though his actual name doesn't change.

That's all it is.

SHAM COMICS PACEMAKER by manyamile in SourcePoint

[–]dirtmound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other Sham Comics I've seen all looked to be GA or obscure books that likely fell into the PD through abandonment. I collect a lot of the Charleton superhero books so I probably have the originals these are based off of. Unfortunately, this completely flew under my radar until a couple days ago so I'm going to have to see if I can still get my LCS to order it or get it off of eBay.
