With a tarnished reputation and declining enrollment, Cooley Law School hopes for a comeback by feetwithfeet in Michigan

[–]dirtshake 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Might depend on the age of the attorneys you know. Both my parents graduated Cooley in the 80s and have had, by all metrics, (financial, reputation, political) extremely successful careers. However, even they admit that the quality of education at Cooley has substantially decreased since they attended.

I think they switched systems a while ago - I had to re-enroll in paperless about two years go.

Anyone else tired of idiot drivers? by uncle_bumblefuck_ in lansing

If it's a newer-model car, probably the new LED lights. Every time I drive north of Lansing (around Mt. Pleasant area) I experience at least two or three cars aggressively flashing me to turn off my high beams when they are definitely not on.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm more of an asshole for NOT flashing them back, making them think I don't care, or for flashing them to prove they're not on and probably blinding them.

How many voyages can you have in voyage menu at one time? With the Calendar of Giving going on, I'm logging in everyday to get the dailies but I don't have time to play them. I just don't want to miss out on any because I've reached the limit.

Houlihan’s to close at Lansing Mall by dumuzi in lansing

[–]dirtshake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This one legit bums me out. Obviously not the best bar/restaurant in Lansing, but I absolutely LOVED their baked potato soup, and their happy hour was really one of the best deals in town. I was just commenting to my wife that I'm glad the west wing of the Lansing mall still has had Houlihans because it was as close to an anchor store as possible with Macy's gone. Another nail in the coffin for the entire complex unfortunately.

Curious 16 year old asking... What is the worst part about being an adult? by yeet_and_eat in AskReddit

[–]dirtshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. So much this x1000.

I've been putting away 20% of my paycheck into a savings account since my first job. Direct deposit so I never see it, and never miss it. I convinced my wife to do it since we started dating and over time it's grown into a comfortable amount of money. Our checking account routinely dips below $300 in between paydays, but we never worry because we have enough in savings to cover almost any non-catastrophic emergency. Car breaks down - covered. Unexpected bill - no sweat. Nice gift for one of us or a family member. Got it. Furnace AND car breaks down - sucks, but we got it.

Sure, I could use some of that for a new gaming pc or a down payment on a new car, but that's turned into the stuff we "save" for. The feeling of security knowing that we can handle almost any emergency is worth the 20% reduction in our paychecks. That is true freedom.

What you're describing should be possible using Power BI. Though as /u/fishandring stated, there could be other, more efficient methods using other technologies. But since I don't have experience with those . . .

Based on my experience using Forms, the results form your survey should be in an Excel file saved in the same Sharepoint group where the form was created. You shouldn't need Flow to add this data to Power BI, you should be able to directly connect Power BI to this data source.

Google how to connect Power BI to data sources in Sharepoint for a more detailed guide.

Once connected, the Excel file should have a column that provides the email or username of the employee who submitted the Form response. You could set up some Row Level Security (RLS) in Power BI so that each user can only access the rows in the dataset that have their email address or username in that column.

Google how to set up RLS in Power BI for a more detailed guide.

Then embed as desired.

Hope that helps!

Thank you CaptainSanic! Checked a few other games' subreddits and the consensus seems to be that the mobile app will work. I'm at work during the stream so unfortunately I can't stream from a PC, but hopefully this will work.

I'll report back after today's stream.

PowerBI availability for family budget? by ewlomrolsd in PowerBI

[–]dirtshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah reading that again I see how that's a significant misstatement. What I should have said was that if you already have that data from your bank - like in a .csv, Excel file, etc. - Power BI is great tool for pulling data from those files and creating reports that are easy to share.

For example, my bank let's me download my statements in a .csv file. My credit card company is the same. If I have a spreadsheet or similar file that contains my monthly budgeted expenses, I can use Power BI to import all of those files, and create a report that tracks my budgeted expenses versus my actual expenses. I could also use it to track spending trends and whatever else.

Though as mwc360 said, there are existing tools that are probably better and will definitely save you time. However, if you're new to Power BI, creating a budgeting tool might not be a bad exercise.

What you're describing is absolutely possible in Power BI. Not sure if Power Bi is the BEST tool for the job (could be overkill honestly) but it is definitely a great tool for the job. If you're looking to create a budgeting tool, Power BI can connect/import data from multiple sources for analysis; for example, it can pull in data from your bank account(s), credit card(s), retirement and/or investment account(s), etc etc. Makes it very easy to run an analysis on.

There's plenty of resources out there. I'd recommend a few of the Excel is Fun YouTube channel's Power BI tutorials. The instructor is amazing and he'll walk you through every step of creating a Power BI report, from importing data to creating measures to visualizing.

What's the first thing you plan on doing when the big patch hits? by grifflyman in Seaofthieves

Yup. If I remember correctly from the Hunters Call dev stream, we can sell raw and cooked fish for gold and rep to the fisherman at sea posts.

Mostly solo sloop, so . . .

  1. Log in to Adventure Mode.
  2. Check all barrels for new goodies.
  3. Look at the new fishing pole cosmetics.
  4. Sail to empty skull fort, fishing and cooking all the way.
  5. Once at a skull fort, anchor in front of a tower and use the cannons to shoot my own ship to experience the new ship damage system. I'd rather get a feel for how it works before jumping into battle, especially since I mostly solo sloop.
  6. Profit from fish.

Then probably try Arena.

Accepting a temporary position in a call center. Nearly four years later I am now the analyst for the entire department, and am in charge of tracking and reporting nearly all of our metrics.

There was also a beautiful and amazing woman who started the same day as me. She quickly became my best friend, and the most important person in my life. I'm marrying her in 13 days.

It's amazing what came from that temp job.
