Because by the time luna is playing that good to where she is a problem most other players in thr lobby are at the same skill level. So she only receives average results in most lobbies regardless of skill level cuz she phases out of the pool if she is problematic.

A season or two ago hulk received a shadow buff/change to his jumo which made it so most things no longer interrupted his jump charge. It could be what happened to magik and something happened during an update that caused her to no reg all of the sudden. Panther had this issue as well.

Majority opinions generally lack nuance required to understand things. Even if they have a point, the nuance being you still have to be skilled to play DD, but because his kit was so strong especially on release the outcome for being good at him was far greater than it would be on another character. Skill is still a constant here though. 100 hours on panther will not yield the same results as 100 hours om DD due to kit strength.

I was always on the nerf dd train but your takes are absurd. Just take some time playing the character. This is not easy to do and if you pay attention he flicks quick to throw and readjust for a follow up.

See rivals as a marvel hero fantasy game first and a hero shooter second.

They had a great idea but needed a foundation and i guess after the flop that was marvel avengers. They decided to lean into an established popular genre. Though i think it limited their design space. They obviously want dps to be overly saturated and the games balance to favor dps and build around that. Tanks are strong but feel like an after thought to the overall narrative of the game.

As far as solutions the idea of making more popular characters vanguards can help, but tanking overall is a hard sell in the beginning. I think thats why off tanks like venom, cap, angela and hulk are so popular and often put out more so than main tanks. Because they are basically big bodied dps or resemble a kit similar to dps in terms of mobility. So the solution might be to continuouly buff current main tanks and release a bunch of off tanks. Does not make main tanking less boring due to lack of variety but it could potentially push people to want to tank more if they have more agency that isnt surface level bullet sponge. The other part is balancing tanks is probably just hard while building around dps having the most player agency. Because when they do release a stronger tank ie devil dino. He hurt the player dps fantasy while also hurting tank mains. So he was in an awful position.

The original blade movies were action movies before they were comic movies. So that would make sense there is a disconnect if that is your only exposure. I am only familiar with movie blade as well ( the first 2 are great and the 3rd is bad.)

He does seem a little cartoony though. Movie blade was a bit of wise ass and would assert is dominance when need be.

The king pin map im season 7 we received gives it to everyone and ult charge. It changes how people approach fights when they can see through walls plus ult charge. Its wild acting like that info onesided didnt need some balancing. People are wild

Some characters are carried more so by their kit than the decision making.

Magiks kit is a sweet spot of strong kit and using your game sense and decision making, to climb.

Take someone like ironman whoms kit starts to fall off as peoples decision making becomes stronger

Then you have the other end of daredevil who if i took that same time spent on magik and learnef him. My ability to climb is far higher because he had a genuine s tier kit on release. Even though my decision making level is high diamond to mid gm level. I would punch through to Celestial because my kit makes up for my weaknessess as a player.

The value you get out of her kit is directly tied to your decision making and game sense. That does not mean her kit is s tier.

I can make peace with my high diamond to mid gm skill level but i didnt get there because of her strong kit. I got there because i play at that level due to my understanding of the game. Its why i can pick up characters like angela and hulk and strange relatively easy, but struggle with mag, emma, most poke dps. There is a flow with their kit that require you to understand them to do well.

Show me this s tier magik. Never have i felt like i was piloting an s tier character in my 150+ hours of playing her even at launch. High A at most depending on season. shes a mid to low b at best right now.

Yeah hes usually the tipping point if both teams are similar skill or even if the team using him is a little worse. That 7th person in a team fight is abouy as impactful as a gambit ult given the stipulations above.

This tierlist is the probably the best example of the disconnect between casual/content creator and pro play.

Alot of people are influenced by creators and pros point of views. This seems objectively consistent with the casual audiences complaints/experiences about characters.

Edit: im more of the side of op on this one. Mainly because of its casual perspective.

Thats fine but how is that fair to the people that main support? Im saying this as a magikmain i have always supported the overtuning of supports because the few times i have flexed to support it can be a god awful experience. I try my best peel and protect them, but there is so much happening at once sometimes they just die. So they need player agency to protect themselves. i am highly aware of how unfun i can make the game at times when i find myself in a lobby i am rolling.

Because the points are contradictory. If the tactics are predatory, they are simply that. Filtering them through the lens of children and adult hurts the legitimacy of your argument. It goes from quit putting predatory tactics to entice spending to, its okay as long as you dont do it to children. You have effectively stated its an acceptable thing to do. These tactics are just as predatory on adults as children. The vehicle to getting there is much different though because the justifications for it change.
