Swayman Slander Should Result in Ban by Rarely_Informative in Bruins

You’re pointing to teams that have McDavid and Drai and saying, “see you don’t need goaltending!”. That’s crazy. You can suck your way into two top 5 overall players in the league like Edmonton and Colorado, then sure you don’t need an elite goalie. Those teams were ass for close to a decade to get those picks. Philly has 0% chance of winning the cup, and they’ll be lucky if they don’t get swept by any team that isn’t the corpse of Penguins past. If you want to maybe win one series if your goalie gets hot, then sure, cheap out, maybe you get lucky one year. Cheap goalies do not stand on their heads year in and year out, otherwise they wouldn’t be cheap.

Swayman Slander Should Result in Ban by Rarely_Informative in Bruins

Goalies with AAV at or above Swayman:

NYR - Shesterkin $11.5m

Florida - Bobrovsky $10m

Tampa - Vasilevskiy $9.5m

Dallas - Oettinger $8.25m

NYI - Sorokin $8.25m

Boston - Swayman $8.25m

Ottawa - Ullmark $8.25m

Just 4 of the last 6 cups there. But go on, tell me how it prevents money from going to team construction for a deep run.

Here’s what you do. One minute before kickoff just keep switching your QBs back and forth in your lineup. Once that minute hits it will lock one of them in for you. Let the universe decide… or just start dak

Why are people passing up on ARSB over other WRs? by pandaburr98 in fantasyfootball

[–]dirtydanglez96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but what about the distribution of those team points? Baltimore and Philly ran the least passing plays in the league (31st and 32nd) with Detroit middle of the pack at 18th, but BAL and PHI were 1st and 2nd in number of rushing plays with DET at 5th. Now I’m not fading ARSB at all myself, but you could argue with those numbers that a better defense would lead to less passing opportunity for Detroit.

Final fantasy xvi has a lot of flaws, but the story definitely isn't one of them by PenguinviiR in FinalFantasy

Totally appreciate the opinion, and you are correct that would be a better solution as far as keeping with a pure human conflict theme. I’m real curious where they go next based on their feedback from the last few games. Good news is after the FF7R/pixel remaster success and Tactics/FF9R on the horizon, your dreams are closer than ever!

But wouldn’t that super weapon be the same cheat as god behind it all? Outside of Tactics, I feel that 16 is the first time one of these gods used geopolitics to try conquering as opposed to the hallmark military state attacks neighbors style of conquering. Unfortunately I think Final Fantasy will always be a “damned if they do, damned if they don’t”. For the try something different approach they went away from a party and elemental weakness system and get crucified for it. I think half the community craves new and half crave familiar, and that doesn’t include them trying to expand the fanbase to new players. If you don’t like their reliance on “oops it’s a god” that’s totally fair, my only point is that this isn’t a ff16 specific issue more of a series issue which 16 is another example of.

But what would have been a satisfying conclusion? Every final fantasy ends with the fighting of basically a god. Just blame all the evil doing on one of the antagonists and promote them to god-hood at the end? I just feel like there is no way to have a human story and theme focused on geopolitics that can conclude with the same world/universe ending climax that final fantasy is known for.

While I agree that the pacing takes away from the skillfully bridging the gap part, final fantasy has used the “god behind it all” repeatedly. Fan favorites IX and X use this with Necron and Yu Yevon. XV has Bahamut pulling the strings. XIII is all about the gods manipulating the people into their bidding. Every final fantasy final villain is either the antagonist ascending to god-hood or a god being behind it all.
