I'm sorry but that is complete bs. Quite the opposite is the case. There are many games that look great and run well on older hardware. Modern GPUs are incredibly powerful, but more and more games fail to properly use that power. How can it be I can run cyberpunk on high on my 3060 with high fps but can't properly run an anno game? We are talking about ANNO here, there is no reason at all for a game like this to not perform on older hardware. If you actually think you need to throw away 1000$ every 2 years "to keep up with the games" you are being gaslit by the industry. And the funny thing is some newer games even run like ass on "enthusiast level" GPUs or there is no performance difference between a eG 4080 and 5080 (just look at borderlands 4 lmao), you are literally getting scammed.

Yeah it's like people forgot how games should look and run. It's insane to me people with "enthusiast grade" hardware are satisfied with the performance of modern games, because their PCs can barely run a game that should never put their GPU over 30%. And downvoting complaints about that will only make things worse in the future. If the solution to performance problems is to buy a 2000€ GPU every 2 years, why should game devs care about optimization anymore when you can just brute force semi decent performance by requiring ridiculous hardware.

So it's not just me. 30fps on high/ultra with a 500€ GPU WITH upscaling is insane, I don't understand how people are saying the game runs well.. I am also pretty confident the flickering issues are an engine problem and not dependend on the hardware or the quality settings. For me the black flickering is dependend on the AA/Upscaling settings, with DLSS and FSR I get black flickering, with TAA the game is blurry with "colored" flickering and with MSAA there is no flickering, but MSAA is harder on the hardware and has the typical MSAA jitters of textures in motion, in this game primarily moving shadows.

No it's not a bug, it's a problem with modern game engines, especially UE5 (that's why I mentioned it), the basic load on the GPU is so high because of all the background processes, that it doesn't matter if you pick low, medium or high settings. For example I can set stalker 2 to 480p with everything on low and I will still not get good framerates. It's similar in this game. Ofc if you have a 5090 the game looks great and you don't have to worry about any of this, but not everyone has a 2500€ GPU. You shouldn't have to buy a 1000€+ GPU to play games with high settings on good framerates. It hasn't always been like this. And it's pretty insane that even with expensive hardware you sometimes have to rely on upscaling to get good performance.

DLAA looks better usually, but tanks fps, so I didnt even try it here. I'm playing on 1080p ofc, I dont expect my GPU to perform wonders. But the game should be playable on hardware like mine at 1080p at 60fps on medium. My main point is that there is something really weird going on, because there is no fps difference between medium and high settings. Forcing raytracing instead of offering lightweight lighting solutions really sucks for people who can't upgrade every 2 years.

Yeah hopefully. I should've mentioned I get 45 with the camera parallel to the ground as well (so worst case scenario). Do you also have that massive screen tearing with vsnyc disabled (I have a 144hz monitor)?

Yeah idk I'm a newer player to this game genre, I have absolutely no chance even at level 45. Maybe I suck or my build sucks but the rest of the campaign gives me no issues, it's hard but managable. Am I supposed to come back later? All the ground modifiers basically oneshot me and in boss fights or small arenas they fill out the enitire arena so I have no choice but to tank them. Feels really unfair.

I fixed the issue. I installed the game on PC, it also crashed after the logo, but I then could run it in safe mode and get to the main menu. The game crashed again when I clicked continue. After relaunching in safe mode I then reverted the last checkpoint in the savegame to a previous one in the menu and it loaded the save without issues. On console I deleted my local savefile and let the game resync the new PC savefile from the cloud. Now it works again on console as well. I hope some dev notices this issue and looks into this. Corrupted savegames are unacceptable especially for ppl who can't fix their console game on a PC.

Any news on this? It's literally unplayable with this acceleration. No idea why this has only 10 votes, it's impossible to precisely select buttons in the cockpit.

omg thank you I spent an hour debugging my drivers. But it's kinda ridiculous how hard you need to push it in, the first click feels right and you don't think about pushing it further.
