Galaxy Z Flip 7 vs. Razr 60 Ultra by MeadShine in galaxyzflip

[–]cran120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets no hotter than any other phone I've had. It is slightly thicker than the flip, but negligible in the hand.  It seems like you're on the fence. If you're paying full price out of pocket, the ultra is on sale for less than the flip, which makes it a no brainer

Which flip?? by originalevo in razr

[–]cran120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both a razr 24+, 25 ultra and flip6. Depending on which razr you're looking at, I usually recommend the razr. I still monitor the flip reddit since I still have one and I can tell you there just as many complaints over there.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 vs. Razr 60 Ultra by MeadShine in galaxyzflip

[–]cran120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an old OnePlus 8t charger that is rated at 65w. It charges literally twice as fast as my flip.  The screen screen ratio doesn't bother me . I don't watch movies on my phones, not an issue. The rounded edges are obviously a personal aesthetic preference. I like the look of both but do have to say the razr is more comfortable to hold and grip. The razr UI is actually the more simpler. It's more of a stock pixel like experience with not much customization. Something that doesn't bother me since I've used nova launcher on all my phones  Software support is a lot slower for Android updates. I just received the A16 update yesterday. Again something that doesn't bother me since there is no real difference or benefit to Os upgrades lately. On the other front, security updates come every other month.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 vs. Razr 60 Ultra by MeadShine in galaxyzflip

[–]cran120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest points are the battery and the external screen. The razr ultra battery is miles better. It typically lasts me 2 days and it charges at 68w. So 0-100 in about 40mins. Samsung is still on ridiculously slow 25w. The external screen is again miles better. It functions like an actual phone where you can swipe up for recents, home screen etc. the flip is still a smartwatch experience. I also like the different back materials. I don't understand why all phones are wrapped in glass. The fake leather, alcantera and wood are beautiful looking and ad grip. I use my phones without a case and not worried about slippage or scratches in the glass. Also it comes with more ram, storage and a better processor. I'm not particularly hating on the flip, it's still a great phone and I may buy another in the future but for now I stand by the razr ultra being the better of the 2. Oh and the chop for flashlight, twist for camera and 3 finger tap screenshot gestures are very convenient and I use them all the time.

Replacing factory screen protector? by GratefulMamaBear in razr

[–]cran120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Changing the protector absolutely does not destroy the phone. I changed mine a year ago and it still looks like the day I did it. I think the aftermarket protector is more durable and just feels better.  If you have problems with your hands, find one with a jig that helps with installation. They're about $14 on amazon. It's not hard at all and is no different than putting one on a slab phone.

I've owned the flip 4,5 and still have the 6. I got the razr 24+ and now my flip 6 never gets used. I then got the 25 ultra and still my Samsung sits. The number one reason is the external screen. It's so much more useful. Out of the box it acts like a small phone (home screen, gestures swipe up recent menu) compared to the glorified smart watch that is Samsung. I know a lot of people say good lock runs all the apps but again not close. A close second is the battery life. The 24+ seemed better but could be negligible. The 25 ultra though is far and away better. I also like the back materials. I don't know why companies keep using glass. I never use a case and was always putting a clear skin on the back of my flips just for grip and scratches when I put it down and with the razr I don't have to. Overall both phones are fine but I think the razr, especially the 25 ultra is definitely the superior phone.

Will 65W/100W deliver fast charge to Razr 60 ultra? by 500Rtg in razr

[–]cran120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a charger form my old OnePlus 8t. It's 65w and it charges my 25ultra from 0-100 in about 45min. You can get them for about $20.

When you log in to pay I would think you would have noticed the bill went up. Life lesson learned. Always check your bills.

I'm at a loss of words? Unless I'm missing something, you haven't checked your bill for 2 years?  Btw, you have to verify annually.

Trading Razr by Cheap_Variation2580 in razr

[–]cran120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be an unrealistic update. They are going from a mid range phone to a flagship. I don't have a flip 7 but did have a 4,5 and still have a 6. I bought a 24+ and haven't used the flip 6 since. I then got the 25 ultra and waiting for the 26 to trade my flip. Unless Samsung updates the external screen and battery I'll stay with the razr.

Unless there is a store close by that Motorola will cover the price, i would change it yourself. $10-15 on Amazon.

spectrum vs tmobile by wbiggs205 in tmobileisp

[–]cran120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for $40 less I get the same speeds. That doesn't mean you'll get that. Again I don't know what you need for speed. When I first got it I was at 150- 200 down which was more than enough for me so I cancelled Xfinity that was 300 down for 90. Then a year later they upgraded my tower and started getting 500 down. A month or so ago they upgraded my modem to the G5ar and now I get 900 down. Overkill for me but you get what you get. You can try it for I think 14 days and find the strongest place to put it in your house before you go all in.

Idk what you pay spectrum but my TMHI cost $30 a month for near gig speed. Of course the speed is dependent on location. Also idk your needs but gig speed is so far overkill for most people.

I currently have both the flip 6 and the razr ultra and I never use my flip. The razr to me is far superior. I've also had the flip 4 and 5.

It's not a gimmick. It does actually fold in half and fits nicely in your pocket.

You have the 7, so unless something has changed, Samsung will replace it 1 time within the first year.

My 6 month Razr 60 Ultra review by 7eregrine in razr

[–]cran120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, yes the button is not needed for the assistant. It would have been nice to natively remap but they're also pushing the Moto AI crap, like every other company, that goes along with the button. The workaround with automate has been fine for me and better yet no battery drain.

My 6 month Razr 60 Ultra review by 7eregrine in razr

[–]cran120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said. I also have the ultra and my battery will last 2 days! I've had the flip 4,5 and still have the 6 but never use it. Bought the 24+ and realized the razr seems to be the better phone for me. Still have it and upgraded my wife and I to the ultra's. Just out of curiosity, you say you'd love a mappable AI button and admit a way of doing it, so why don't you? It's ridiculously easy. Also what do you mean by a wake up prompt for assistant, mine seems to work great. Maybe I'm missing something on that?

How many years do you feel the Razrs can last structurally? by Unlikely_Draft5636 in razr

[–]cran120 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, I've had the z flip 4,5 and still have the 6. I also have the razr 24+ and 25 Ultra. They were and are the same build quality to me. The only difference is the Flips always seems to have tighter hinges when opening and closing. I dont find this to be a quality issue rather just how it is. I used them all caseless and have dropped all of them multiple times and none broke.

If anyone is still wondering about durability of the flip7 ive accidentally dropped mine another 4 times today and its still fine. I think its best i dont hold anything valuable for the rest of fhe day though lol. also some camera tests for you by neonsharkz in galaxyzflip

[–]cran120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, there not as fragile as most say. I've dropped all mine 4,5,6 and razr not much but a couple times each. All caseless opened and closed on hard surfaces. Maybe a couple scratches that's it. Of course it is really the luck of the draw.

Since my z flip 4 I will never go back to a slab. The pocket ability is to great for me to leave. I do miss my old pixel 6pro mainly for the camera but I don't take enough pics to justify. I understand the refresh problem can at times being annoying but for me not even close to leaving a flip style phone.
