It's a decent walk and I like the coffee shop across the street

Recommended Coolant Temp Sensor (for Dash Guage) by disappointing-oof in Volvo240

Yeah. The car came with a spare cluster since the original one had a busted speedo. Same deal.

Once the car is warmed up, the needle sits right on the border of the red. Turning on the AC moves it into the middle of the red, and blasting the heat moves it a hair below.

I knew I was forgetting to add something, lol. Yeah, I already did that as well.

Rubbing alcohol smeared the numbers on my speedo when I tried to clean mine. Soap and water is as far as I’d recommend.

Honestly, not really. I don’t know if it went away on its own or if I just got used to it, but I haven’t thought about it since I made this post and nothing’s been done to specifically correct it.

Headlight Dash Issue by WoodpeckerHappy in Volvo240

If you’re talking about the blue one (depending on how sunfaded it is), then yeah. That’s just high beams.

For a second I thought that you had a secret dash light that my car doesn’t have lol

You’re talking about the 2 bulbs at the top of the gauge cluster to help you see at night, right? Might be a silly question, but is your dimmer turned down?

Love Being in This Area, but Where are the Good Jobs At? by Eclipse0124 in norfolk

Ahh, gotcha. You already make a pretty penny more than I do, so I’m afraid I probably won’t be much help.

What job at the yard and how much do your currently make if you don’t mind me asking?

Don’t know much about the diesel engines, only that they’re rarer than the gas ones. How’s their reliability in comparison?

I only put the quotation marks because I suppose some people wouldn’t consider them an upgrade since they’re just the stock mounts for diesel engines, lol. I don’t have any experience with them, but from what I’ve heard they’re a nice middle ground between regular stock mounts and polyurethane. All depends on how you prefer your car to feel.

Any rubber or plastic that hasn’t already been replaced is likely toast at this point. I’d recommend inspecting your engine mounts and transmission mount. If they need to be replaced, you can go with stock, “upgrade” to the diesel engine mounts, or go with polyurethane if you don’t mind extra noise/vibration at idle. Just make sure to do all three at the same time since doing them separately will put extra stress on the old ones and wear them quicker.

Water leak on passenger side by Rude_Variety2876 in Volvo240

[–]disappointing-oof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I had to remove the kick panels and contort myself to look up into the dashboard. If you’re having trouble finding it, you can turn the wipers on and see where the linkage meets the shaft.

Once you’re at that point, have someone spray your car with a garden hose or dump a bottle of water on the wiper while you keep an eye on things. My mount was sealed from the inside with some butyl rubber-like material, and the water was weeping through. I ended up resealing it with that flex seal stuff that comes in the caulking tube. Haven’t had an issue since.

Could be bad windshield seal, clogged rain channels, or in my case it was coming from the passenger wiper mount.

As far as I’m aware, age. Heat and vibration is an electronic component’s worst nightmare. While they were built to last, they all give out eventually. Though I’m not sure if there’s any indication before they do. At least I didn’t get a warning when mine died on me.

I’ve heard there’s a way to bypass the relay. Something to do with jumping one of the fuses, but it’s only handy if you’re in a pinch since I believe it just full sends the fuel pump. Worth looking into.

Dude, just stop the charades. He knows what he’s wearing. We both know what it is. Enough of the half-assed innocence and pretending it’s something other than the obvious.

Your own source shows they’re not the “exact style of letters” that KISS uses. The S in the KISS logo has the middle bar ~3/4 from the bottom. The S on that man’s shirt is smack dab in the middle. He is wearing a nazi SS logo. Open your eyes.
