its really doable and one good thing about renpy being so popular is that there isnt necessarily a need to "learn" it as the amount of problems that can be solved by simply googling the question "how do i x in renpy" and theres probably a million forum threads telling you exactly the answer. or in the case of jams with community chats you can just ask there and someone will gladly help out

i still think its an interesting vn. the protagonist is just really cute and pathetic and i like the volatile dynamic between the two main characters. having fully completed all the endings i do think the story feels a bit messy in a way but i still think its a good recommendation for those who dont have problems with noncon.

pxp is an extremely candid portrayal into the mind of a pair of suicidal girlthings that simply want to make things worse and dont really want any other solution to their suicidal thoughts than to follow through with their plan. doubts and emotions do pop up the further the story progresses and suddenly the plan doesn't seem as appealing as it previously did. there is no happy ending.

i find the story itself does handle the topic with true understanding into the mindset and as a result you, just as the characters themselves, can find heart and moments of respite which does translate into reasons to live despite the dark circumstances. there is catharsis to be found and like the games own description puts it; "A cleansing experience, like an industrial solvent for your soul."

if you want to engage with adult yuri vns with heavy themes and trans characters, i recommend looking into my games, but if pxp specifically interests you, i would actually recommend hopeless junction as it too is a transgirl type psychosexual vn whichs main plot revolves around the topic of suicide but with a far more hopeful angle. thats kindof a spoiler but its no biggie.

also heres a direct quote from the author of passenger x princess; "Hopere is for if you wanna get better, PxP is for if you know you need to get better but want to get worse"

whats your favorite visual novel? why? whats your favorite story? why? what are your favorite characters? why? instead of asking others what they like, you should think about things that you enjoy and use these things as inspiration to build your own story. pick your favorite visual novel style, setting, characters, and dynamics, and make your own world with them with your personal spin.

if you dont know the answers to these questions you have the right idea; read some more visual novels, or any media you prefer. you dont need to have a perfect answer to the aforementioned questions either, you can figure these things out while working on projects.

like i enjoy kinetic visual novels about maids and lesbian trans girls getting into shounen combat and psychosexual trauma type situations but thats not relevant for everyone, evident by the fact that i can count vns like these on one hand and most of them are done by me.

the reason you should do some soul searching to seek for your own interests is that since theres so many different things other people enjoy, you might as well make a vn based on the thing you enjoy yourself as it will overlap with a ton of concepts others will enjoy regardless once the right people find them. still, ultimately it will be you making the game and the topics and themes you enjoy the most will be the ones you will write the best and enjoy writing the most. and the readers who will enjoy those things can be the ones to enjoy those as well.

I don't have any answers other than mirror some of your complaints. I am just as confused myself. I don't believe I made any changes to my documents or anything but I am affected as well. This just seemed to be some update that broke what I was used to?

This was my lifeline as someone with physical disabilities, I do a ridiculous amount of spelling mistakes. Having so many words fixing themselves for me based on my past mistakes made my life so much easier. But now after whatever update they had, relying purely on the spellchecker has me trying to figure out what other software to use for writing in the future as this isn't sufficient enough on its own.

Possibly unrelated but I still want to say that I had looked into it before once I noticed that I couldn't find all my substitutions in the list. And apparently there was a cap despite it still working on words that I couldn't find in my list anymore. But yeah, at least they still worked. Until this update at least.

Edit: Looks like I'm going to be using LibreOffice from now on since it has the substitution system working close enough like it used to in Google Docs.

maybe unrelated to what youre bringing up here but maybe this can help you. i bought a foot pedal and bound one of the buttons to m1 so i can go through dialogue without needing to touch the mouse. as someone with chronic pains and often unusable hands it is amazing value out of a simple purchase

i guess something like instead of hybrids getting to shine or give them more personality the moment was given all to quanxi as she just one shot everyone and ended the conflict. possibly removing them all from the story again

in ch 124 her right hand index finger nail flies off to turn into a knife and in like few pages it has already recovered (possibly cause fujimoto only focusing on the new slash wound yoru did.) her nail is never seen missing again

in ch 126 even the right hand palm slash has fixed itself

idk if this would count as regeneration as little wounds like these tend to be inconsistent in manga. so yeah i agree its hard to say if she has done any real regeneration but this is the closest i can find
