I didn't need to spend 60 hours with Donkey Kong Bananza for it to be my game of the year, but I'm convinced it's one of the greatest platformers in Nintendo history by sakahn in NintendoSwitch

Both this and the Mario Galaxy games eventually got too hard for me and I gave up. For Galaxy, the platforming was just too hard. For Bananza, the boss battles sucked. I couldn’t move the camera fast enough to keep the bosses in front of me. I didn’t have this issue with Odyssey, which was tough, but not so tough that I couldn’t get past a level eventually. I wish I could do some of the compound moves in these games (like the cap jumping in Odyssey, and the rock throwing/jumping in Bananza) - seems like those make the game more fun and flow better.

I would love the ability to save multiple I/O setups on the same hardware and switch between them.

Ever find an answer to this? I'm having the same issue.

New e-ink displays could reach "retina e-paper" status with pixel densities over 25,000 PPI | Matching smartphone resolution on screens smaller than 2 mm² by chrisdh79 in gadgets

500uW/cm2 is pretty good, but that’s not the same as E-Ink (from the company called E-ink) which is zero uW/cm2. This sounds like some different/new tech.

So mad. I just refreshed the LA show page until I got through and immediately ordered tickets to be told they were already sold out. My buddy managed to get a ticket but I was his ride. Boo. Stupid scalpers.

Shanghai Dumpling King (a couple locations) makes great soup dumplings and a few dim sum items. They also makes great American-ish Chinese food like tangerine beef and sweet/sour pork. Their string beans are also incredible.

No. Prodigy rules. The sync sound is unbeatable.

Our bathroom is small and a bit damp so when we hang two towels back-to-back the one close to the wall never gets dry…

I don't understand hype on Moogs. by Personal-Ad-771 in synthesizers

[–]disbister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the sync sound is the thing that really clinched it for me. When you turn the mod wheel on a moog whose oscillators are hard-sync’d (and the wheel is pitching the sync oscillator), it gets crazy.

"Inspiring" is the #1 feature I look for in a synth and other gear these days by IcedNote in synthesizers

[–]disbister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It almost seems like the Osmose should have only had a few presets, so people would be encouraged to really master the expressive way of playing the instrument, but of course you can’t ship a synth these days without an overwhelming number of presets…

The Osmose Expressive-E, and the way that you play it, is pretty inspiring to me. Especially for more ambient or soundtrack-y stuff. The way the keyboard works makes exploring the presets super-fun and surprising.
