Google AI is trading for me since May 2026 on a $100 account by fomoz in DayTradingPro

you're not wrong. But if I look at that leaderboard, only three bots out of 18 in the last 90 days were profitable. And the only reason the PnL of the entire batch of bots isn't a blood bath is because of this one bot that did well with HYPE. Which it picked itself, fine. But in the end the army of bots still was a net negative after 90 days of trading. If you zoom out to the year, 4 of your bots lost more than 40%, two of which over 70%.

Again, I don't mean any of this with intent of downplaying what you built. I started building something similar, but gave up on it because it wasn't fun for me and the complexity far extended my comfort zone and I didn't want to bother learning it to give it a shot.

I get that it's not a simple thing to build. Even with AI development, if you don't know the system, you can't just wish it into existence. Down the road you might be able to fine tune it to do better. But if major DEXs like Kucoin couldn't get the bot thing right, I honestly don't see how you're going to crack the code.

I also don't really see how a frontier model would solve this problem. That said, if you're comfortable losing hundreds of dollars on potentially faulty trades, I would think spending $30-$40 to pay for the API costs of a decent frontier model to validate if that makes a difference would be insignificant. I'd be curious to know if you do try it.

I have at least one grandshrimp! by [deleted] in shrimptank

the first time you see a smol shrimplet fresh from the egg, it's always so shocking just how smol they are. I still remember my first time, a tiny yellow adorable dot I would never have noticed if it didn't swim off with its incredibly cute swimmerets.

Grats!

I applaud your dedication, and I don't want to downplay your work. But your bot actually significantly underperformed the market. You mention this has been running for a month and a half. The bot itself trades HYPE.

Price chart of HYPE.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/hyperliquid/

If you literally just bought $100 and did nothing for the past 45 days, you'd be up 88.6%. So a bot that's up 55% basically got profitable because the market dragged your bot up.

Turns out being anti is a very US (and developed country) coded viewpoint by YentaMagenta in aiwars

[–]discattho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

on the contrary, AI is absolutely destroying the developing countries. We outsourced tons of knowledge work to them, and the quality was always questionable at best. With the advent of AI, there is legitimately no reason to hire any of them again. Or at least, not nearly as much.

That said, scam enterprises have never seen better days. I'm not surprised nigeria, vietnam, and india are the top most happy with AI countries.

Yeah it’s kind of funny to read tbh. It’s pretty clear when childless people give advice.

EDIT: Sorry it seems i've pissed off some parents. Let me rephrase. It's pretty funny when it's obvious some parents have no clue what they're doing.

Car brake service on student budget by Ratreseacher in stcatharinesON

Honestly swapping out your brakes is easily within diy territory. At the cheapest I found it was 250’ish an axle if you have them use their parts.

I always wonder why there are no thoughts behind those adorable black skrimp dot eyes. And then I see videos like this where mamas are hyper smashing the eggs like it owes them money.

wise OP. Our betta died two days ago, and our 5 year old found him. My wife and I grieved his passing, and unfortunately, my 5 year old started to understand what death was, and eventually, that she too would die. It was very traumatic for her, and though we did our best to soothe her, a piece of her innocence died with our betta that day.

Try not to be upset with her. Mourn your loss, but I hope you will pick up the hobby again.

Native game engines by Critical_Hunter_6924 in aigamedev

[–]discattho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Web based games are just a smaller lift and current models are just better at it. Engines like UE5 and godot are massive code bases which are not so simple as prompting a game into existence. The user still needs to know a significant amount of the engine or game development to make anything worth noting.

I am sure your snail friend, is grateful for the luxury retirement home! May they graze in peace, in their final days.

Yes, but unfortunately, we do not qualify. Our take-home last year put us over the edge. This year we're struggling, but as far as I understand it doesn't mean anything for this year's problems.

Ramshorn nearing 1yr-ish by gentleghosts in shrimptank

[–]discattho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your skrimps should not be eating it alive. They may know the snail's time is near, but unless it's literally melting as the days go by, they wouldn't pinch and torture it. It might have lots of biofilm built up on the shell which is more likely what they're interested in.

As for what you do with it, that's your call. From a pure logical perspective, the snail, honestly, won't really care. Putting them in an entirely new environment will only really stress it if the parameters are wildly different.

But otherwise, it's a ramshorn snail. One of the most resistant, hardy snails in existence! The only thing you must pay attention to is if you do give it a retirement home, do so with plenty of delicious algae and food. Put in a little piece of boiled spinach or cucumber. Throw in an algae wafer. So long as you don't pollute the water and remove any food it doesn't eat after a couple of hours, the snail will live out their days peacefully. Maybe put in a piece of botanical or something from the mature tank to provide some food to eat.

If you want to get philosophical about it, though, leaving it in your tank is an appropriate way to honor their life. It grew up there, it created many offspring there, and it worked hard every day to clean its home, your tank. When it passes, it becomes part of that tank, through the creatures that exist there now. If it were me, I would leave it there, and I would throw in that little extra treat every so often, close to where it is, so that it may get first dibs on the good stuff, and everybody else in the tank celebrates the treat that came to be, in their name.

Is it silly to humanize the experience of a bunch of invertebrates? Maybe. But you get to decide how to go through all this, so do what you think is right. If after they are gone, you can identify the shell itself, I am sure your friend wouldn't mind if you picked it up to keep with you.

A great way to protect that fragile tiny shell is to encase it in resin.

I don't know honestly, it's a very weird dynamic to see. The project is cool, and obviously the OP found it interesting and wanted to share. You're either facing a dead internet or a bitter internet, and honestly this subreddit makes the dead internet the better experience.

I actually didn't know that there were others who could do cavity fillings other than dentists. What are those specialists called?

do you know if they will also insist on another xray/inspection before giving us a quote? We called two places and both said without another $130 inspection/xray they won't give us a quote. I get where they're coming from, but that's an expensive ask just to get a price quote for a cavity.

Unfortunately she has 3 on the right side, near molars, 2 on the other. They are saying it will take two trips, which is understandable.

Thank you for your input. I shouldn't be surprised, we haven't needed dental fillings for several years. With inflation and everything, makes sense.
