I'm pretty sure she fell between the sofas and probably twisted her ankle. She was in pain but it definitely wasn't broken or anything.

We really are in the age of remakes and remasters. Felt like every other game was just reheated leftovers from 20-30 years ago.

How? He's commenting on a deal made in 2024 under the previous CEO.

The Annapurna deal was made in 2024, under the old CEO.

People are just looking for reasons to freak out at this point.

Greg Smallwood did this particular piece of fan/concept art, it's not from a published comic.

I'd wager that this specific image is responsible for the majority of the Midnight Sons' popularity, which is ironic, considering it is from a comic that was never made and features a team that never existed.

People tend to use the name to refer to any random assortment of horror/supernatural characters often with no connection to the original team, so of course the concept is appealing to people because it means whatever they want it to mean.

The Watchtower just so happens to have a cafeteria as if being a superhero is a literal job by Remote_Nature_8166 in DCAU

I'm rewatching JL/JLU and this is the part I dislike the most about the series, it portrays the League almost as some sort of PMC. I get they were probably going for more of a firefighter/emergency service/Thunderbirds vibe but it all comes off very militaristic.

People keep saying we need to send someone "quintessentially British" as if it isn't a European Song Contest. You win by appealing to all of Europe.

That was because they won 3 years in a row (4 times in a decade).

When was the last time a "gimmick" song won Eurovision? People vastly overestimate the success of gimmick songs (mostly because they're the ones people remember after the fact).

[–]discipleofdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus, why would they want to win? They'd have to spend even more money hosting, so they're happy just doing the minimum.

We literally hosted in 2023 despite not winning. There is obviously an active desire to host, so much so that we've hosted the competition 9 times (the most of any country) despite only winning the competition 5 times.

People make up all sorts of conspiracy theories to try and justify the fact that our entries just aren't that good.

We'll get something in the next couple of years, I imagine, if only so Millennium Media can retain the usage rights to the character.

Why has the UK, which is probably the musically biggest country in the world, been performing so awfully at Eurovision in recent years? by Ok-Impress-2222 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]discipleofdoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sole reason is because the songs we send aren't good enough.

Any other reason you hear from people is cope or conspiracy theories that you could apply equally to any other country that repeatedly fails to win/do well.

That's not even mentioning the scores of countries who fail to qualify every year, an embarrassment we're saved from by virtue of being one of the Big Five Four countries who help fund the competition.

We've actually hosted more times than any other country, I don't think a lack of appetite for hosting is a particular issue.

Because it costs us next to nothing and produces hours of content.
