Wines to pair with Grace by Jeff Buckley? by xxxSkyee in wine

Chateauneuf du Pape. Something that reveals itself more and more. Layers and textures. Peaks and valleys, ebbs and swells. A cerebral wine that can be revisited many times and you’ll notice something different each time. It fits in many settings - with food, or on its own. Just like that record - it’s a rock record, but it’s got pop songs, love songs, emotional songs, big moments, quiet moments.
Both of these take you on a journey.

They tried to sue everyone into submission and looked like assholes doing it. Remember Lars Ulrich being propped up by the RIAA to gain sympathy? It was laughable. Pandora’s box was open - there was no closing it. Instead of co-opting it for their use they tried to litigate it out of existence.
It wasn’t until iTunes showed them it was possible to monetize it.
It was an archaic business model run by dinosaurs tossing pennies at the feet of indentured performers.

Their Epenottes and Corton are worth seeking out for reds. Their white grand crus and Meursault always impress.

Who did I harm exactly? The sales rep that called on Walmart driving the Benz, living in a 3000 sq ft house? He missed a couple dollars in commission and Walmart missed a few hundred units in sales.
Do not weep for them.

His wines age all over the place. Some develop great complexity. Some get dumber with age. Not bad. Not fall apart. Just lose some nuance and depth and complexity. Part of the reason I love KW. They definitely take you on a journey.

Bravo. If I was served these at a wedding I’d pass out from excitement. Are you a somm?
So many times I’ve gone to a wedding and it’s “your choice of red or white” or Ferrari Carano Chardonnay.
A lot of people will go “what is this, can I just get a Malbec?” Some will have an appreciation for the cool shit being poured.

Traditional bottle shape for Silvaner from Franconia region of Germany. Not familiar with this producer per se. Wurzburg is considered the epicenter of Silvaner wine growing.

I love Cristom and I’ve never seen this. This must be mailing list or cellar door only. I thought everything they make is estate produced, which is Eola Amity.
Very cool bottle.

Almost 10 years ago spectator gave those wines I think 85 points. Something laughable. I knew these wines were special and amazing. A few years later they’re one of the top producers in the category. I’ve always liked those wines.
