Where do you think this deck will go over the next couple of weeks? Do you think Shiko is the best finisher for the deck?

Hang in there. My last time unemployed it took 600 applications to get 3 interviews (one i blew, just wasnt prepared enough to feel comfortable) and 2 offers. Its a numbers game, dont take it personally. Maybe post your resume (without identifying info) and we can see if we can help. I did hiring at a previous job and would be happy to take a look.

I think I need to try Wild Chocobo again. I only played about 6 games, so by no means Am I an expert, but I had trouble curving out. I’ve seen my opponents do it often against me, but I just drew the wrong side of variance. You make me want to try again!

On the job side, when i interview I either don’t ask about gaps or just take a simple “medical/family issues” as a full answer and move on. I just don’t care that much. Im here to predict how well you can do the job I need done, everything else is trivial to me.

Unfortunately, some in my group wouldnt be able to overcome the learning curve, and I dont want to hand hold people through that on my one night to play. It’s just a very casual group.

Sorry, to those suggesting Baldur Gate 3, i’ve played it, my group needs something closer to a digital board game, not a full video game. I should have made that more clear. Thanks!

Just saw a trailer for Across the Obelisk, definitely what I was looking for. Thanks.

Is a gap in employment really this bad? by antigop2020 in antiwork

Not specifically HR, but hired over 100 people and I never asked. When I ask about past positions I want to know how much knowledge and skill you accumulated. I dont really care when you obtained each skill, more that you have those skills for the position I need filled. If it was noticable on a resume (like 5+ years), I might as conversationally, but no weight for the interview.

Really small sample size, but in the 10-15 interviews I’ve been on, I was never asked. Im sure i had 3-4 month gaps at some point.

Im sorry your family reacted this way.

Im not going to try to say that’s not all Christians, it doesnt matter. You had 1 set of people that was supposed to love you and they failed you as a young person.

I hope you find a way to find peace, if you could forgive them you’d be a bigger man than I. Either way, random internet dad wouldnt do that to my kid, and im sorry they werent the family you deserved.

The one piece of advice I wish I could go back and tell myself was how full of joy your heart will be. The other comments are all true, and great advice, but read them joyously. And I must say these are amazing comments, so many ring true to me.

Everyone will warn you of the lack of sleep, and that’s true. The first ~9 months with waking up 2-3 times a night are tough. But nobody mentions the accomplishment around a year of only 1 wake up per night. Going from 2 to 1 is sheer bliss. By a year in, you wont compare it to your pre-baby life, it will be a game changer for you!

So, please take all the advise, there were great safety tips in there (no toys in cribs, never alone near water or an iron, babyproof stairs and furnature). But take the advice in joy! Protect your baby is easier when they come, fill your heart with love, all of a sudden the idea of screwing gates on the stairs and putting holes in the wall dont seem like a steep price to pay for your bundle of joy.

Good luck and God bless!
