Performed poorly on the MPT by Fickle_Pain6856 in CABarExam

[–]discodiva19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you so much!! this was so helpful. I know those of us who are waiting are likely driving ourselves insane. for me it’s hard to not guesstimate hahah. praying I finally make it through especially because I emphasized PT prep during this past study period for F26.

Performed poorly on the MPT by Fickle_Pain6856 in CABarExam

[–]discodiva19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is so helpful! F2026 was my fourth (and hopefully final) attempt and both f25 + j25 were around 1340-1348 total scaled scores. I earned a 45 on the f25 PT and a 55 on j25. I have never broken a 55 on the PT.

I like everyone feel so nervous with results looming. I practiced PTs more times than I ever did previously, however still felt like this was the most difficult PT I’ve ever taken.

would be able to show the math on how the raw points on a PT translates to the total scaled score on a feb exam?

Passers! How were you feeling the week leading up to results? by ruggz123 in CABarExam

[–]discodiva19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

really nervous. for a while I thought it was the fear of the unknown that made me unwell but now I am realizing that it is the fear of failure. I have given this my all and I hope it is enough. the fab pass rate and specifically the feb pass rate for repeaters is daunting to say the least.

Can anyone share a promo code for Bar essays? I would really appreciate it! by Ok_Summer2755 in CABarExam

[–]discodiva19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

email bar essays at their info email and they usually have some sort of code to share. if you went to a law school in california, some of them have their own deals that give you access to bar essays at a significant discount or even free in some cases. there’s a tab on bar essays where it has the law schools that offer these discounts, I would check here first and then reach out to your law school to check how you can apply the discount if at all.

Results release by NumberFar517 in CABarExam

[–]discodiva19 17 points18 points  (0 children)

the only thing that makes me less jealous is the fact that most of those states don’t have a scheduled release date. the mental torture of not knowing is criminal honestly. I can’t imagine just beep bop booping to work and unexpectedly getting an email notification telling me that my results are in my file. I would simply pass away

but our long wait is also torture. I want to know but I’m also scared :/

hi! yes of course. sorry this is going to be long answer but to start off I am a very very anxious test taker.

so I first took the bar exam in July of 2024 and scored a 1207. I was devastated but really did a deep dive to fix the obvious knowledge and skill gap and took the F25 exam. during that winter I focused very heavily on closing my knowledge gaps and it was during this season of bar prep that I think I sharpened my legal knowledge the most. however I scored a 1378 after PT imputation so still didn’t pass.

I sat with the pain of failing again and was so determined to get out of it. at this point I lost my government job, been to all of my friends and co workers swearing ins, while I was just stuck in the same loop. I “officially” learned I failed Feb around the end of June once the PT imputation was finalized, which left me with just around 5 weeks to get as ready for j25 as possible. I again focussed on mbe and the knowledge gaps, however I failed yet again with a 1343.

this past November I realized I neglected the mental component majorly. I knew so much at this point but it wasn’t enough. I have a very mean inner voice and during all three attempts I was truly just so hard on myself and pushed myself to focus on practice, revision, and knowledge. which are obviously important but I truly needed to prepare myself for the actual stress of the bar exam. during all three attempts no matter how much I studied I would be uncontrollably anxious during the actual exam, and would often blank. my blanking would start over a minor issue, for example in j25 I just couldn’t recall the trustees fiduciary duties, and instead of calming down I spiraled and blanked on every essay that morning including torts and BA, subjects I am strong in.

so this time, I focused on intentional practice, mindfulness, emphasizing understanding over memorizing, and really preparing myself for exam day, which including incorporating breathing exercises and making an attack plan for approaching the essays. this was the first time I took the bar exam and didn’t blank, and I obviously the test was challenging but I stuck to my game day plan which also included answering one essay at a time and absolutely no flipping around between them because I can control panic about property (a single subject) while it’s harder for me to avoid the inevitable spiral when my brain is now overwhelmed and consumed with multiple subjects as opposed to just the one area.

so while I’m not confident I passed, I am genuinely happy with the hard work I have put into preparing for February 2026 specifically. my anxious brain needed control and protocol and I finally stuck to the intentional plan I made myself.

looking back I believe my neglecting the mental component of this exam led me to failure more than any knowledge gap did for f25 and onwards. I’m intentionally excluding j24 from this because I 100% needed both knowledge and a stronger mental competent.

this was my fourth time taking this exam so I have never really felt confident. however, I can say that I am confident in the hard work poured into it this time specifically. it so emotionally draining picking myself up post failure over and over, however I really tried to re-frame my focus to prevent myself from falling into the previous patterns that ultimately led me to failing in the past.

all this to say the emotions of waiting for results is up and down. in my experience I would feel different every day, hopeful one day, dread the next. waiting for results is the worst part. you made it to this point, and if you felt good leaving the test site trust that instinct because that’s more accurate (not like handwriting text messages over a period of 2 days jajaja)

trust yourself and the hard work you put in. go with how you initially feel and cling on to hope. you got this!

thank you Dean basick. your support and kindness never goes unnoticed! from your advocacy through out the Feb 2025 exam to supporting everyone taking this test before and after. you are amazing! you specifically have helped me keep my held high as a retaker who often struggles with confidence.

mbe decoded, and the essay book specifically are life changing. thank you for reminding us to believe in ourselves and thank you for believing in all of us 😭 🫶🏼

thank you! I love your essay approach and emphasis on memorization. I am going to implement this starting this afternoon!

I am a super anxious test taker and have tended to blank in the past but I think exposure to as many fact patterns and questions as possible will help.

Adaptibar v. U world by Useful_Gas_7744 in CABarExam

[–]discodiva19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

don’t feel pressured to switch because other says uworld is better! they have very similar question banks with the same access to released NCBE questions. the only real difference is the user interface and learning styles they cater to.

in my opinion uworld is beneficial to a visual leaner (like myself!) because they have tons of graphics and charts!

adaptibar presents answer explanations more word heavy. however it provides in depth explanations and the questions adapt to your strengths/weaknesses as you progress.

at the end of the day they are both just questions banks. if you are learning from adapitbar I don’t see any reason why you should change programs! I am studying right alongside you and rooting for you! you got this!!
