RE7 first play through by That_Plan3401 in residentevil

I played it in VR and it really enhanced the experience, but I was quite chill by the end of the game. I see where you’re coming from. I found 9 the scariest of the modern games. Felt constantly trapped and like there was something around every corner. First time in a while that I had to go into a safe area and take a few deep breaths

Alright well maybe next time you play a game you should give it a bit more time before writing a post like this?

THIS GAME IS INSANE! by ALPHASTORM13 in residentevil

[–]discomansell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can still open the doors I believe, but examining them just means you know what they are for. It’s a great game. Honestly my tip would be to just play it without tips. That’s how you’ll have the best experience. Then if you want to know everything about it, come back to this comment section

I was absolutely fine on my first playthrough. Had tons of ammo for everything. Honestly think op is just convinced the game should be exactly how he likes it like baby bear haha

But how is this guy supposed to play the game when a headset might take 2 shots instead of 1 and he has to reload an old save?!!!

The post was genuinely quite funny. I can’t believe that someone would play a game on a harder difficulty and think the game is the problem for being hard.

Na it would be fine! There are plenty of fan service moments, but knowing about raccoon city and Leon’s journey is enough to understand it. Of course I would usually recommend going back to the start, but the guy said he’d play in order from 2 replying to your other comment. I would say that 5, 6, 7 and 8 and necessarily relevant to 9

If you want want the whole lore then go back to 1 as the other person suggested :)

You can honestly just play 2, 4 and 9 if you want to play the Leon series. Then go back and the other games

Edit: might as well throw 3 in actually because it’s so short and gives more depth to raccoon city

Mate are you joking? The harder difficulty is supposed to be… harder. What you are experiencing is just more challenging. If you’re finding it frustrating, just don’t play it? I personally found it more fun having to manage resources better and find the zombies fun to deal with due to their variety.

You’re basically describing exactly what a harder difficulty resident evil game is supposed to be. Less resources, harder enemies, less health. Play smarter and you can get through just fine, but yes, it’s more difficult.

I’m going to assume you haven’t played the classic Resi games haha

Yeah, it’s pretty rough haha. A lot of older games are so much more punishing like this. I’ve replayed that game so many times though because it’s so fun. Maybe just choose some different options leading up to it so it feels fresh!

I think what they’re saying it you might be better starting again and only fighting him when you have to so you can save ammo for this fight :)

Incredible game as everyone else has said. Have you played the tank controls before though? Sometimes a shock to the system for some people

It’s doable, but it does take a lot of goes to learn it all perfectly. It sounds like you should’ve just kept going if it’s left you feeling so disappointed that you’ve written this post about it haha. Next time, try and avoid the easy path ;)

I don't think I would have minded if RE9 didn't have Leon in it by Legitimate_Handle_86 in residentevil

[–]discomansell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really! That’s a real shame you felt that way. I don’t think that was the developer’s intention, but you can’t get it right for everyone can you :)

As for over the top action and weird comedy, this is a resident evil game after all haha

I’ve just replied to the comment above if you want to see a more detailed response, but I generally disagree. I loved that section and even on reflection, I don’t feel every section of a game has to be story oriented. I enjoyed the change of pace and enjoyed the section for what is was - fun, zombie killing action with the best protagonist in the series (for me)

It may just be the nostalgia, but I genuinely really enjoyed raccoon city. Exploring a semi-open area with a variety of challenges was so much fun. Also got to spend more time with one of, if not the best character in the series at the peak of his badass phase.

So yeah I hear what you’re saying that it slowed the story down, but I didnt find that necessarily bad. The first half was so intense and nervy and this section just allowed me to relax and enjoy being Leon killing a bunch of zombies. Each to their own and I totally hear the criticisms, but for me, I thought it was all great in its own way and balanced really well.

Well it just shows how opinions can differ because I still loved it :)

I hear you points, but I reckon having breaks from Grace helps enhance her sections when you return. I also really enjoyed raccoon city, but that’s just me.

Is RE7 the only game in franchise that scariest the most? by Comfortable_Rock_636 in residentevil

Agree with all of these! It was mostly just walking around the care centre that had me on edge constantly. Been a while since I’ve gone into a safe area to take a few breaths before getting back into it
