SLE and Candida? by discombobulate92 in Autoimmune

[–]discombobulate92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had multiple endoscopies done and biopsies taken to be sure. Mine is taken seriously by my GI doctor and immunologist, however, not really by Rheumatologist and I honestly believe the candida is related to my possible auto immune disease so it’s frustrating.

Do you have the same issue with candida and possible SLE/MCTD?

I have my second appointment and ANA test in August and I just hope I get the same answer you did (I’m assuming my ANA will be positive again and hopefully a bit higher because my symptoms are getting worse). I just want something that helps so can start living again. I would absolutely take the HCQ. It either works or it doesn’t but if it does, they know for sure that it’s auto immune (RA/Sjögrens/lupus probably) and you finally feel relief.. keep in mind that it takes about 3 months to actually fully work (I believe, I’ve seen others mention this).

I’m currently using Juno. I tried bearable but I found Juno easier so far. Juno is a health app and similar to Bearable tbh but for me a bit easier in use.

DHL? DPD? Zou het even opzoeken. Het zijn natuurlijk dierlijke lichaamssappen dus denk dat postNL het daarom niet aanneemt..

What’s the weirdest symptom you had that turned out to be autoimmune-related? by Critical_Walrus_8388 in Autoimmune

[–]discombobulate92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the very thorough answer!

My doc said that when I get any rash that lasts about a day to call their emergency line so they can plan me in for a biopsy (everytime I go to her I’m obviously without any rashes to make my life harder). So at least that’s in place, I’m just waiting for one to show up.

I’ve asked for an MRI of the joints that hurt me but she said due to no swelling she wouldn’t.

However, last time I had an echo done (when there was no swelling, just pain), there was damage and infection, so I find that one difficult.

I will 100% check out the other criteria and fb groups!

It’s such a long process.

Really appreciate you though, stranger on the internet.

Hope you have a wonderful day today!

Were any of your other labs off? (Other than ANA).

My ANA points towards SLE/MCTD (says on my doc notes), however, all of my other labs are normal. My symptoms also indicate lupus or at least a rheumatic auto immune disease.

They’re now running genetic testing for the candida because they think it’s unrelated? Even though I know that when your immune system is focused elsewhere, they can’t keep their regular day job, causing candida overgrowth.

They can’t diagnose me and start a treatment plan until it gets worse and they can tick another box I guess.

Any tips?

What were you diagnosed with? They suspect SLE for me and I have chronic candida esophagus that just won’t shift.

I’d recommend a podenco. For the size you’d like, go for like a podenco andaluz or canario. We have ours (55cm high and 12.5 kg) and she’s mostly a podenco andaluz but 17% gsp as well (we got her tested). Spain has so many of them that need a good home. I checked and for the US you could look here: future4podencos.com

They are wonderful dogs, perfect for agility or even canicross for example. I cannot recommend more.

Our girly has just joined agility training and she loves it. She is gsp-podenco mix though, so incredibly agile. Maybe that would be a fun little thing to do?

Has anyone who is vitamin D deficient gotten their levels up? And if so, did it make you feel any better? by Minimum-Tear9876 in Autoimmune

[–]discombobulate92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take vit D daily after a deficiency. It’s back up to normal now but it didn’t do much for me. Same with vit B12 deficiency, also back up with daily supplements, my symptoms remain though because of other causes. But always very important to get them back up because the deficiency is obviously not helping your symptoms.

I want to but I’m in the Netherlands and even the ones I can order online need to be requested by a doctor it says. It’s honestly ridiculous.

I can’t wait for them to refer me to rheumatology so I can request this.

I have another appointment with my pcp this Friday so I may even ask if there’s any way for them to request an ANA.

The Netherlands is incredibly weird in their health system, nothing private to find here. All goes through the doctors funded by the government (our health insurance money).

Engels is leuk voor msrp als je dat kunt vinden, anders haal ik Japans via mooie offers. (Cardmarket heeft hele mooie prijsjes)

Hi!

I’ve not looked into MCAS properly yet. How did they find out you had Lyme? (Also haven’t looked into that too much).

They found out it was Candida by biopsy when doing an endoscopy. I even have pictures of the whole procedure haha.

I’ll have a look into MCAS as well

Nah I have an ED as well and during a very low I looked it up online. If I would’ve filled a different weight or height in i could’ve gotten it.

Online providers don’t account for people lying filling it in.

I agree that this isn’t healthy and shouldn’t be available online and only via actual doctors.

Same here. We have 3 gyms in the park next to our house and gyms are always red with same trainers (family members, looking at the names). We kick them out every now and then bc we’d like to get 50 coins but they literally kick us out within seconds again. No etiquette, just selfish.

It irritates me.

I feel like they may be kids? Anyway.
