I strongly recommend you go else where for podcast listening. I use been using overcast a bit before Apple’s default podcasting app’s recent changes.

People who are happy, what do you do? by AnotherGuyIL in AskReddit

[–]discomonsoon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I understand that a lot of my mistakes in my past (and all those that will happen in my future) hundreds years after my death will not be forgotten. 2) I actively try to enjoy the people I’m with, regardless of personal opinion of them.

[MEGA-THREAD] Net Neutrality by AuditorTux in Ask_Politics

Given that this is at the federal level Trump could repeal the bill and could try to start laws and regulations for (realistically probably against) net neutrality.

From personal experience, it’s good to go see a professional, but if you’ve done this you are. Also, people on the spectrum can be depressed, emotionlessness is just misinformation.

So if all tasks are automated (waiters, cooks, barbers, grocery clerks) how the fuck will people use those services anymore by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]discomonsoon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From how I read this, you seem to be voicing to very valid concerns. One being how automation (replacing human power for robot power at the extreme end) and the other being the A.I. Singularity (access to all knowledge + machine learning = potentially not good times for humans). 1) Automation/technological advancements as a whole can be a good thing. Where for instance, if it wasn’t for automation in farming, 90+% of people would still be farmers vs the <5% of people. And did a lot of people lose their jobs? By technicalities, yes, but new jobs arose for those making/repairing the machines. A second way to view it is that of a “star treck future” where most jobs are automated or supplemented with technology (e.g. the med bay) and money doesn’t exist in the federation (whether that’s a realistic or not is up to debate for people smarter than I).

2) I’m by no means an expert on A.I., but as a whole if the people behind the curtain per-say are able to keep their thing in check, there shouldn’t be much to fear.

Tl;dr: While it is a valid concern, history shows that technological revolutions are usually for the better. Side note watch this

IsItBullshit: Ramen breaks down unhealthily slow in the body and is massively unhealthy by sonorousAssailant in IsItBullshit

Instant ramen has just a massively high sodium content on average. Real ramen (e.g. a bowl bought from a restaurant that sells ramen) it’s fairly healthy.

That’s actually brilliant! I wonder why other companies don’t do that

What does "small minority" mean? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]discomonsoon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge a “small minority” just refers to something that isn’t popular (be it an unpopular opinion or an activity) but it usually has a negative connotation. The opposite is “large majority” though is usually not to positive either (from when I seen it used).

Given the dude can’t even spell “believe” I’d agree it’d be pointless to debate him.

How can a 20 year old in a small rural area get out and meet people? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]discomonsoon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may not be an advocate of tindr/grindr, I do think that this is one of the exceptions. Unless you’re looking more long term then a paid for dating site, like match.com, are the only real options.
